How about some silly board game?

My Mom got a cane when she turned 40 and then returned it to the giver when he turned 40.....then it became a pass along between them every year........

Comedy movies are good too and can be used whenever she is down......

Go to the dollar store or to a party store and just look around.....they have some great things that you wouldn't even think of......

You might even do some research and find out what the paper had it on her day of birth wherever she was born..........and make a little collage of pictures or articles....

Good Luck and I'm sure she'll have a great time.

For my husband's 40th I made gift bags for all the guests - went to the dollar store and filled up on knee braces, pill boxes, anti-aging lotion, ben gay, laxatives, etc. It was really cute, and he thought it was funny to give the guests the same things that he got, whether they were older or younger than him.

If that's not the route you're looking to go, a $40 gift certificate to a spa or her favorite restaurant or coffee shop would be appreciated I'm sure. Or how about a basket with an assortment of her favorite snacks/candy - little bags of 40 M&Ms, 40 Hershey kisses, 40 jelly beans, etc.

Have fun!

Every guest had to bring a pari of panties.
You know, andy size or color.

Had to have a fun note to go with them. Explaining ow to ues or when to use. Explaining if you see thiese,,,run.

Just fun stuff.

There was even a diaper given for upcoming use when hit 60 :)

The Encyclopedia of Immaturity - in the children's section of the book store (Border's has it). Very funny.

when my best friend turned 40, I applauded the child in her by giving her a balloon bouquet of ....40 balloons. I told her to "embrace her inner child" & she loved it! (as a side note, all of the children in our group of friends/family absolutely adore spending time with her....because she is soooo much fun!)

Hi T.,

Have an essential oil party. Wonderful things for our bodies, minds, and souls. I do these for small groups. I'm booked this weekend. Maybe you could arrange something for Mon, Tues, Wed nights or next (10/2) Saturday at say noonish! I also have a great gift idea: Our Essential 7 kit is 97.00, a great group purchase idea. Gag gifts go so far, this one would be treasured for months to come! Take a look at www.youngliving.org/yljohn. I could run it right over!
