70S or 80S Pop Cullture Icon Halloween Costume for 2 Year Old

For our daughter's first halloween she was Princess Leia and last year she was Wonder Woman. Since this is probably the last year we can choose her costume for her, so I want something equally awesome. I'm not crafty, so I want something I can probably buy or simple to make. I was thinking Rainbow Brite, but I'm up for any other suggestions.

What can I do next?

Cher. Or Sonny :)

How about Annie from Little Orphan Annie?

Honestly, I woudl do something childlike and cute like a clown, since she will likely never choose that herself?

I was thinking Rainbow Brite! That would be adorable!

You could also do Princess Peach from Super Mario Brothers (the original) or a Smurfette. They had a cute Smurfette costume at Buycostumes.com.

I recently went to an 80's movie costume party as Indiana Jones. Khakis, a button down shirt and brown leather jacket, fedora, and bullwhip. Easiest costume I ever put together.

I love the Rainbow Brite idea! I also think Annie would be cute, and definitely recognizable... or Strawberry Shortcake.

I am having such a hard time coming up with a costume idea for my son this year! You got some great ideas for a girls costume... I wish I could get some great ideas for a boys costume!

How about a band done literal

*Alice in Wonderland costume with fake large chains (plastic links spray painted gold) -----Alice in Chains.

*Fashion a head gear to mimic an eraser ----Eraserhead

Or do a stereotypical 80s girl... side pony, neon top, acid wash, leg warmers and a fanny pack.

The best costume that I have put together in the 6 years my kiddies have done halloween was when my littlest human was 3. I dressed her as a Red Hat Lady not an icon of those decades but so fun to do.

One year I made my daughter a little flower child hippie.
It was SO cute!
I actually found a hawaiian dress at a thrift store and made bell bottom pants out of them. Super easy with a simple elastic waist. I found her a yellow turtle neck sweater and appliqued a peace sign I cut out of the dress on the front of the shirt. I made her a headband and put a silk flower behind her ear. I found a little vest, put a peace sign on the back of that, and got beads for her to wear. I even found a pair of white boots. She looked so darn cute.
It's not 70's or 80's, not even an icon, but she got so many compliments.
A miniature hippie was pretty funny.

I always made my kids costumes. I search for things at thrift stores that I can repurpose. Sometimes I get inspired by the things I come across and that sparks the idea for the whole costume.

Best of wishes.
Halloween has always been my favorite.

Have fun!

Wow feeling young here, I don't even know who Rainbow brite is...You are lucky you can still choose the costume. My son just turned two and i wanted to dress him as a puppy, but he wants to be winnie the pooh and nothing else will do!

I was also going to say Punky Brewster! It would be pretty easy and cute! Rainbow Brite or a Care Bear would also be super cute. You could do a sweatsuit in a solid color with mittens and do an applique on the front of the symbol (on paper or fabric) and do little bear ear handband.

If you do Pippi Longstocking you can take apart a wire hanger and stick that through the braid so that you can make them stick out like Pippi's. You could even make braids out of yarn and attach to a headband.

Punky Brewster, Rainbow Brite, Cabbage Patch Doll, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bear - I actually just saw Strawberry Shortcake costumes at Toys-R-Us last week, apparently she's making a come-back.
