Any Baby Monitors to Recommend?

Hello. I've been researching some baby monitors to purchase for my 14mth old girl and for my unborn. I'm debating on the monitor or just the regular hear/sound monitors? There's so many to choose from and they all may be pricey. Any Moms can suggest one? Thank you all in advance.

I have a summer monitor with video and temp. We have a wood heated house so we really use the temp. feature all the time to know the temp in our child's room. Vid is not so important for an older child, but with a little baby who sleeps in your bed it is critical to know that he is not crawling off the bed when you think he is sleeping!

Don;t know what exactly ur lookin' for in a monitor. But I love the AngleCare Delux monitor & sensor pad system..I think it may have been bought out by Graco now, but I don't know for sure. I was paranoid about SIDS & the pad alleviated that fear for me. And now that my 1st is 2 I'm actually still using that feature just to know when he gets out of his bed...But even w/o using the sensor pad I LOVE the monitor...Its voice activated so you don't have to listen to the static all night long. You can adjust the sensitivty so you can pick up every little sound or not. So much nicer. I don't know if there is any other monitors out there that do that or not. And it has great range I;ve walked nextdoor w/ it and had it work fine..And I have never had any interference. Its really pricey there is a cheaper version but if you are getting it for the monitoring system don't get that one...its just a standard monitor its the Delux package that has the voice activated feature. any ?'s feel free to ask

I highly, HIGHLY recommend a video monitor!!! So worth it! I never thought it would be until I got it and I would never go back to just sound! We tried several video monitor brands but we loved the Summer brand best (non-digital).

One thing I wish that I would have looked for... battery operated receiver so that I can take it with me around the house

We have the Tria by EvenFlo. It has two recievers with rechargable batteries so I can clip it to my blet when I'm in the garden and a walkie-talkie feature so you can communitcate with the person at the other reciever or in the nursery. This was very handy one day when my daughter had a very messy diaper and I needed more babies wipes. My husband was able to hear me and ask me where the extra wipes were when he couldn't find them.

We have the Summer Infant video monitor (latest model) and really like it -not cheap though. Once you have a video monitor, you'll be addicted to it and will need to take it everywhere with you :)
