I am partial to Anna Maria Island myself. Considering I grew up right near there. It's beautiful, and has a great local vibe to it. You can also try Siesta Key/ Lido Beach in Sarasota.

So many to choose from!! Clearwater is pretty, also Sanibel. St Augustine, Daytona Beach, Amelia Island. I'd definetly explore!!

All along the Gulf Coast are gorgeous beaches -from Gulf Shores, AL down through Pensacola and beyond. We also love St. Augustine Beach on the Atlantic side -super wide beach that's great for bike riding and fun waves for boogie boarding!

Siesta Key is gorgeous -but it's SUPER hot in the summer. Spring or early fall would be great there. Check out Anna Maria Island -VERY pretty and not horribly built up with high rises, but lots of homes to rent.

Daytona and Sanibel Island. Daytona has a place about 30 mins away called Ponce Inlet and theres a lot to do there. Sanibel is touristy so things are a bit expensive.

I've always gone to Lover's Key near Ft. Myers on the West Coast since I was a little girl. There is a fun tram to ride from the parking lot to the beach or you can walk. The beach is big and beautiful. There are also lots of shells. There are lots of condos and hotels nearby. Very family friendly!

St Augustine Beach is really neat. They are pretty large and clean. I honestly love St Augustine in general. They have a castle, a light house, and a alley that has a ton of shops with a European feel too.

Clearwater is really nice too. Honestly, I've only been there with adults so I don't know how kid friendly it is. We were more focused on...um...adult things. :)

We always went to Destin, too until last year. We went about an hour further east to Blue Mtn Beach and it was so much better! No high rise condos, just smaller ones so the crowds were nothing compared to Destin. Great food walking distance to shops, etc. We won't be going back to Destin after this trip. I've also hear Sanibel Island is gorgeous, but it is off the western tip of the peninsula so it'd be too far for us to make the drive.

We love.... Marco Island. ( family friendly) and South Beach in Miami ( non family friendly, however a 2 yr old wouldn't get it)

We also enjoyed Amelia Island but that was a corporate mtg and not many families around. Could have been the timing but beautiful place.

We are regulars to SanDestin as well

pensacola!! near destin, so a similar drive. "I" personally think it's the prettiest beach in the world. and not overcrowded and insane with tourists either. LOVE PENSACOLA!! :)
