Hi Moms,

I've never tried any of the diet drinks on the market. I'm really needing to lose about 20-30lbs and wanted to start replacing a meal with one of the diet drinks. FYI, I am not referring to any diet sodas........only drinks such as slim-fast and whatever else is out there.
Can anyone recommend some that taste yummy and have helped you stay in shape or lose weight. I'm still nursing my 14 mnth old but I'm starting to wean him and would really like to start losing weight.
TIA for any advice you can give me!!

What can I do next?

I bought one of those powdered whey protein containers, and I put a scool of the protein (needed to help you stay full), 1/2 c skim milk, 1/2 c frozen strawberries, a few frozen blueberries, and a banana. It's yummy and probably cheaper than Slim Fast.

My husband use to be a personal trainer to Shaq and Nick Carter, which I still kinda tease him about, but he knows all about the diet and nutrition stuff. His minor, major and masters degree was in that field so he knows what he's talking about.
Since I'm still nursing I can't really diet diet, per say, but I try to eat good calories and get nutrition to do what I can. Pre baby dieting I would sometimes replace a meal with a Muscle Milk Light drink. There's actually no milk in it or lactose products. They're pretty good and have like 18 grams or so of protein so they truly do fill you up. Currently, since I need extra good calories, I add one into my days on top of everything else though. You can get a big box of them at Costco or the gym, or even most grocery stores. We personally like plain chocolate or vanilla.
Good luck to you!

Make sure you read labels. Slim Fast and many others are high in sugars and artificial ingredients. The best tasting (and best Natural formula) is Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard NATURAL 100% Whey Protein. If you print out the online special and then take it to a Vitamin Shoppe store, they'll match the web price. Here's the link: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.j...

My husband does 2 scoops of chocolate protein with 18-20 oz. skim milk, and I usually do 1 scoop with 8-10 oz. of skim milk. We use a shaker cup and then put in the freezer for 5-10 minutes, shake up again and it's delicious and filling. Yum!

You may also want to consider taking adaptogens to help with weight loss and reduce stress. (Check out the Slim formula- it's my fave!) Go to: www.TunguskaMistNow.com

Melaleuca has a great line of products including protein drinks, bars, and an online program vfl.com. Their products taste great and are very effective. You can visit www.LiveTotalWellness.com/TEXAS to learn more or call me at ###-###-####.
I have lost 25 lbs just from taking their vitamin line and not changing my exercise or eating. When you are taking a vitamin with 85% solubility you cells get what they need and you actually reduce cravings etc.
Good luck you!

I am a Shaklee Independent Distributor. My husband has been on Cinch since January 1st. He has struggled with weight his whole life, has never "dieted" this long, and he is doing great! He LOVES his Cinch shakes AND Cinch meal bars. I would love to answer all your questions, etc... about Cinch. Plus we offer a support group twice a month. You are welcome to come and just see what you think. We try to help with the struggle and are presently using cognitive therapy. It's a fun group.
Please don't hesitate to contact me. I'd look forward to talking to you.

For some of the drinks that don't taste very good, my husband and I put them in the blender with a cup of ice and either a half banana or a few strawberries and make a shake - yum. Of course, this may not work if you're in a diet that limits natural sugars.

Good luck!

I love Kashi GoLean Chocolate and posted a review about it on my blog http://www.mamasonfire.com. I drink it for breakfast everyday and am more mindful of mindless snacking, and I'm losing a ton of weight!

Shaklee Cinch, several delicious flavors to choose from. My husband and I both lost weight. My husband lost 60 pounds using the Cinch twice a day. Now we drink them every morning for maintenance; I actually look forward to my chocolate fix every morning. They are fine to drink while still nursing. No artificial garbage ingredients.

While nursing you want to avoid all artificial ingredients, especially aspartame and splenda.
