Bladder Infection - Pembina,ND

I just got home from camping, and I have been suffering from a bladder infection for a couple of days now. It is too late to get into a walk-in clinic today, and I'm not going to bother with urgent care or emergency. I will wait until morning for a walk-in. What can I do in the mean time? I've had a couple of bladder infections before, but I was always able to get antibiotics pretty quick. Any good home remedies?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone. I would have tried the cranberry juice, but I'm out (stores close at 5pm here on Sunday). I tried the beer while I was camping, and it really wasn't helping. It rained all day Saturday, and I swear I had to trudge through the rain every 30 minutes just to pee out a tablespoon! It was very unpleasant! I've been drinking lots of water. I have the Celestial Seasonings Chamomille Mint Sleepytime Tea, so I will try that.
I drank lots of water and the tea last night, and felt much better this morning. I went to the walk-in and got a prescription for Cipro. I should be back to normal in no time. Thanks again for the suggestions. I seem to get bladder inferctions in the summer when I spend lots of time in pools, hot tubs, lakes, and sitting around in a wet bathing suit.

Alka seltzer works good, and that AZO stuff works well too. But if the stores arent open I guess try taking some tylenol until you can see the doc.

Cranberries will help prevent, not treat, a bladder infection. Drinking lots of any fluid will make your symptoms better- counterintuitively, it feels better when you pee every two seconds if you have something to pee out! I second the recommendation for AZO standard, there is another OTC called Cystex. You definitely need antibiotics ASAP, though. Trust me- I had a horrible string of infections that led to infected kidneys from trying to "tough it out" and using cranberry juice. The OTC will help with the pain, tons of fluid, then after you are clear of infection add cranberry/blueberry/sour cherries to your diet to prevent a new infection.
I hope you feel better soon- I truly feel for your discomfort!!

Drink cranberries or eat them like it's going out of style. Some swear by yogurt helping. Drink water too.

If you are in pain you can get pyridium from any store anymore. It's over the counter. Walmart sells it for pretty cheap anymore. I know AZO is the one big brand that sells it now. It's next to the pregnancy tests, yeast infection, condoms aisle always. It will NOT cure your infection but it will numb everything.

I get a UTI at least once a month since I was 12 and I've found that cranberries really do help with the imbalance. Sometimes if it's not bad enough if I pretty much drink a couple gallons of cranberry juice for a few days it gets better. I also find pomegranate juice helps but not as much.

Guzzle cranberry juice. It should help. The last time I had one was several years ago, but I went out and bought a gallon jug of cranberry juice. I pretty much cured myself by the following morning.

Cranberries-- Cherries and Blueberries all have an enzyme that prevent bacteria from forming on the lining of the bladder and entire urinary system. So it you are prone to UTIs eat them as often as possible -- juice works also.
You can flush your system with chamomile tea. I think it tastes better when mixed with mint tea. So one tea bag of each, in a 12 cup drip coffee pot (not the filter where you put the coffee grounds) run water through it and drink all if possible before bed. It will make you go pee all night -- it also makes you sweat. By morning you will feel a lot better.

real cranberry juice(not the cocktail) and water - lots and lots of both, drown yourself in those two liquids. and there's an OTC med that's GREAT for the pain, but i can't think of the name of it.... it turns your pee orange and it's usually with the yeast infection stuff... AZO Standard, that's what it's called!
