So What Happened?

Well, the result, I decided to pump and bottle feed the baby along with formula.
I could not continue to feed off my breast and stay mentally healthy for me and my child. It was hard decision for both me and the baby. In the end, negative mind, body and spirit can have a negative impact on the milk I produce for my child.
He had his first doctors appointment today, he has gained a pound since coming home so I know our feeding plan is working well.
Thanks for the advice and support.

I was enormous like just enormous. I don't remember how big I was but before pregnancy double d's after my milk came in I swear I was like g's or something. We had to go to a specialty store to find nursing bra's big enough. Anyways I had a preemie and the size of my preemie with the size of my breasts was just to drastic and as much as tried I couldn't breastfeed my child I would suffocate my daughter and it was just to awkward. So I pumped for awhile and eventually gave up. My back hurts normally from being bigger breasted but with breast feeding and the size they became it was untolerable unbearble. I wish you luck your not the only one with this problem.

The Boppy pillow helped me a lot and the constant back pain did subside after the first couple of weeks. Hopefully it will for you too! Good luck!

Hi Q.,
I'm only a 34C, but my back hurt sitting in nursing positions, too. The side lying position is what saved the day. I really suggest it. Since your little guy is only 5 days old, your breasts are over-producing right now. The production will adjust and your breasts will not be so large. The lactation clinic at United Hospital was awesome. They have a phone line with nurses who will call you back with advice. They also have a clinic and you can go in and they'll help you.
