Britax Car Seat Questions

I had asked about the best car seat for my infant and word across the board is Britax. Here is my next question ... will this car seat fit into a Hyundai Tucson? AND do they have cup holders? Features I would hope a car seat would have if I am spending that much money!

What can I do next?

none of my britax seats have cupholders, but it's not something i look for in a car seat. i would go for safety over cupholders, and you won't find ANYTHING safer than a britax.

Yes, a Britax will fit in your Tuscon.

Don't worry about the cup holders, they really don't get much use anyway, I promise :-)

I have the Britax Regent. We put it in my inlaws 2-door Toyota Camry for a trip and it fit great. If it fits in there, it should fit in your Hyundai. We asked the grandparents to chip in on the car seat for our son's b-day present. He has so many toys, so we asked for something that he really needed. With the money they gave us (plus a baby's r us coupon), we didn't have to pay anything towards the seat! That really helped b/c we didn't have the money for the seat we wanted, but we wanted him to be safe. So did his grandparents, so they were more than happy to help out with that.

We purchased the Boulevard and LOVE it and couldn't be happier with our decision. It will work for us until he reaches 60lbs. Our son learned, rather quickly, how to put his cup at his side, without having it drip all over the place. He's now 2 and for our drives to Houston, we chose to purchase the following table and foot rest at www.leapsandbounds.com

http://www.leapsandbounds.com/catalog/product.jsp?product...

I really like the table and footrest, but our son got a little too excited a couple of times and wore the teeth off of the table lock. I'm rigging it with a clip to stay up, but have my eye out on another table top once the clip no longer works (foot rest is still good). http://www.leapsandbounds.com/catalog/product.jsp?product...

I have a Boulevard model. It doesn't have cupholders, but is a wonderful carseat. I feel that they are very safe in it. Its very plush...like a barko-lounger. It should fit in your car.

I have the Britax Marathon and LOVE it! There is a smaller Britax though--the Roundabout. I'm not sure about your car--how big or small it is. My Britax does not have a cup holder. I think you would be happy with the carseat though-definitely a noticeable difference in quality when compared to others. Good luck!

We have owned Britax, Evenflo and Graco front-facing seats, and *hands-down* the Britax seats are the easiest to use. Their crash safety ratings are excellent as well. Review the height and weight limits for the Britax seats (should be on their web site). You'll probably either want a Roundabout (which we have 2 of and LOVE) or a Marathon (if they still make them; anyway, it's the larger seat). The Marathon is much bigger, which allows you to keep the seat longer, but I don't believe you can take them on aircraft because of their size (too big). However, if that's not an issue for you, you may want to get the Marathon since it will allow you to keep your child in the 5-point harness longer, if that's important to you. Then you could go straight to a belt-adjusting booster. There are belt-adjusting boosters on the market that also have removable 5-point harnesses, but we went that route, and I found that it was too much of a hassle (at least with the seat we purchased), especially for the extra cost it introduced.

And my 2 cents... I would cross the cup holder requirement off the list. By the time baby is coordinated enough to use it, baby is pretty good at placing the cup in the Britax seat so it doesn't spill.

Good luck!

Hi there!
I had to laugh a bit at your cup holder requirement. Britax is a British make and you will have to search very far to find anything British with cup holders, including strollers and car seats. It would have been handy, because my daughter usually hands me her cup while I'm driving. But we love our Britax and I don't think any other seat compares as far as safety and finish is concerned.
We asked the baby store where we bought our seat to try it out in our car first and they had no problem with that. That way you can see if and how it fits in your car.

Sorry, don't know what a Hyundai Tucson is, but I drive a Kia Sorento and it definitely hogs up a lot of space. And we were soooooo disappointed that it didn't have a cup holder.

We had a Graco that had a cup holder and a little cubbie to put binks and things in, but both my Gracos had problems with the straps staying even so I decided not to get another one.

We just got the Britax Regent for my son who is 3 1/2. I do like it alot. I feel he's very safe and has a very comfy ride.

But, 2 things I don't like:
No cup holder. The mesh side that's made to store stuff in really isn't little kid friendly.

When you insert the metal clips to buckle the child in both sides don't make a "click" sound. That really bugs me. I want to hear a reashurring "click" sound. I have noticed that no matter what side I do first, the next side will make a click sound...but it still bugs me. :-)

Other than that, I like the car seat. My son is nearly 40 pounds and big for his size. He should be able to sit comfortably in this seat for a long time.

Hope this helps.

If you determine how long you are going to have the see and average out the cost per year, the cost is not that bad. These seats are made to last and protect your child. My baby LOVES her britax! No cup holders...

I've had our Britax Marathon for about 2 mths now, and I'm loving this carseat! It does NOT have cupholders, but it wouldn't matter right now b'c my son throws his cup on the floor. I drive a Camry, and it fits fine in my car.
