I was thinking of starting a little business of my own, and I am having trouble thinking of a name for it. I have started making dresses for my little girl and while we were out at a local event for kids, tons of people stopped me and asked if I had a business card and so on....my daughter was wearing one of the dresses I had made for her.
I had thought about doing something like this, but wasn't sure until I received such positive responses. My daughter's name is Kylie, and I was thinking of maybe having her name in it. I really want something cute, but not too cutesy if that makes sense.
I'm open for suggestions. Thanks so much :)
You ladies are amazing and so sweet! I love, love all of your ideas. Kylie's Kloset (closet) seems to be a hit with a lot of you. I love all the ideas and comments...good point if I have another child (girl) down the road, and about checking to see if the name I select already exists.

Like many others Kylie's Closet was my first thought as well. Other suggestions are Girly Goodies, Dresses for Darlings, Kylie's Collectibles, or Frills and Fancy.

What I would do, is come up with your name, then search on etsy to see if that name is taken, or do a google search.

Just remember to keep the spelling correct, funky spelling is cute, but people may forget how it's spelled so if they google search you, they may not be able to find it.
My hesitation on naming your business after your daughter is, what if you have another child/daughter? Is that child going to feel left out if mommy's business doesn't mention her... I would name it something like Polka-dots & Frills. Good luck with your new business!

Where I live there is an upscale clothing store named Lily's. Everyone assumes the owner has a daughter named Lily. She does not have any kids, in fact, she just liked the name. It has a familiar feel to it though and sticks in your mind. Seems like I heard that restaurants who have a name in their name have better success Don't know if it goes for other businesses too!
