I have been going through Roadrunner/Time Warner for the cable, phone, & internet so that I have all the services on one bill. I'm having some issues with their specials & confusion with the bills & all. I need some advice on a cheaper way to have phone service & all the above with cheaper bills & better deals. I'm considering a cell phone but I've never had one & I don't know the best way to go there either. How do I get a phone, internet, & cable for a decent price & hopefully with the least amount of hassell & confusion.

What can I do next?

Not sure about your cable, we have direcTV, but as far as your phone service goes. If you have a cable modem, Vonage is great. Just go to their web-site to check it out. www.vonage.com. We have had it for a month and my in-laws have had it for over a year now. They have two plans one with limited outgoing and one with unlimited outgoing, but you get with it voicemail, callerid, ect.

I have the Time Warner package of phone, cable and internet too and have saved $30 a month doing it that way. I wouldn't recommend a cell phone if you're trying to save money since they are more expensive then a home phone and you usually have to sign a one or two year agreement. You're pretty limited since there is only one company that provides cable in Mission, KS unless you wanted to do the sattelite dish. Time Warner's bills are always confusing since they usually bill for service one month in advance so it always seems like you're behind unless you pay an extra month. They also have franchise fees and taxes. You can see the packages and prices on their website. Don't be afraid to ask customer service to explain their bills to you! I have many times!!

I don't know where you live, but if you have Everest in your area, switch to them! I have several friends who had the bundled packages with Time Warner, and had terrible reception with the phones, bad customer service, etc.

I agree...roadrunner is great for internet, and you really wont want anything else. If you dont mind taking a chance on having unstable internet, you can buy a wireless network card and set it up on your computer. Depends on who and how many other wireless connections are near you. You might get a really weak signal and your internet wont connect very well, or you might get a strong signal and you'll have great internet. Mine is weak...and it sucks sometimes, but its internet...and I dont pay a dime(ops..did i say that?...lol)I also have a cricket. I only pay $61 a month flat fee...unless i buy ringtones or whatever. There is NO contract and you have unlimited time and unlimited text messeges. I do not have a home phone anymore. Yes it is a signifigant amount more then home phone but then again you cant take your home phone with you anywhere or text with it ;) The phone does have a few glitches but what do you want for cheap service...lol. Its still well worth it. I also have dish satalite. Again...it has its problems like not working well in bad weather, but what these days does not come with some kind of problem? At least cricket and dish dont send you a bill thats soo confusing you have to call customer service and ask...what are all these charges for? Oh yea..not to mention cricket gives you the first month free(you have to buy the phone of course). The cheapist one is like $60..something. Good luck!

unfortunately, with that 3 for a low price special, there is a contract, so you might want to fight through the nonsense to make them straighten out the confusion, because you pay if you cancel early.

We use Dish Network now and love it so much more than Time Warner cable, and it costs us less too!
As for phones, we just cancelled our home phone altogether since none of our family and friends call us on it (they always just call our cells) and we only got telemarketer calls on it. We save on our cell phone plan by doing it as a family plan which I would recommend if you've got friends or family in the area. Our plan has my husband and myself, my mom, and my brother who is in college. We all just split the bill according to our individual usage, but it comes out much cheaper than if we all had our own plans! We do it through Sprint, and since we're all on Sprint we can call each other on our cells and not use any minutes.

Be carefull, you might be under contract. If so than it would be more expensive to get out of it than to just ride it out. If not I would recomend Cricket for cell phone service. It is unlimited talk time for one price. I wouldn't recomend getting rid of road runner, once you have had it you will hate anything else. If you are not in an apt. building I would recomend DISH network. We would have loved it if we had gotten better signal, but that wasn't possible with our apt. location. They are way cheaper than cable & their DVR has 100hours of record time to Time warners 20 hours of record time. Plus their Dvr can play & record on two tv's....much better deal. Good luck & I hope this helps.
