My daughter accidentally pooped in the tub while taking a bath...I pulled out all the toys and put them in a bucket, but what is the best way to clean them? Just fill the bucket with bleach water or can they get cleaned in the dishwasher? TIA!
@Jen P. - Yeah, I once worked at a vet hospital and sometimes we had to call out back for a clean-up up front or in an exam room...so we would call on the intercom that it was a "code yellow" or a "code brown"!
Thanks everyone for your answers. Usually I just throw all the toys in the bucket and soak them in bleach water but now she has some bigger toys that would take up too much space in the bucket, so I wanted to know if the dishwasher was okay.
Ugh, I've had to do this before too! I soak them in hot water with some bleach added in the laundry sink. I am not very scientific in the amount of bleach I add. Then once the water cools I rinse them in warm water and let them air dry.
I do the bleach thing, but I mainly had to tell you that your title made me laugh!
I do the bleach thing as well. After cleaning all the "brown" out of the tub (I gather the toys in a container first), I then fill the tub full of hot water and either bleach or Lysol All Purpose cleaner. I let it all soak for awhile, then I rinse really thoroughly and physically clean the tub.
Bleach spray the tub and rinse.
Wash the toys in the dishwasher. Hot wash.
Bleach--our best friend for a "code brown"!
Been there. Done that. Diluted bleach and/or dishwasher seems to have done the trick.

The dishwasher should get the outside, but if any of her toys are "squirty" toys, then it won't get the inside.
We usually scrub and bleach the tub and then soak the toys in bleach water in the tub.
Our boys have way too many toys!
Yep, the dishwasher will sanitize them.
I would clorox everything.
