Conceiving Naturally After IVF

yes.. my friend had fraternal twins (boys) via IVF ... 7 years went by.. she ends up pregnant.. has a healthy baby girl... I say.. you better do something so that doesn't happen again.. she says .. LIGHTNING DOESNT STRIKE TWICE.. 14 months later she has another baby girl. I do believe they fixed things so it wouldn't keep happening.. so yes it does happen..

Yes! One of my friends calls her second child BOGO (buy one, get one free) because she used IVF for her first son and got pregnant naturally with her second son. She was in her mid to late 30's for both pregnancies. It happens. Good luck to you!

I had one round of IVF and luckily it worked--had triplets. 5 yrs later, my insurance at the time would not let me go to my doctor and my script for bc was done. I figured that could not get pregnant anyway so..... Yeah, 4 yrs later my daughter was born. Then 3 yrs later after failed bc my son was born.

I did have pcos though no actual cysts. It can happen.

I am a daycare provider. I was joking around with a new client one afternoon and shared with her my "new client warning". I had had 3 clients that ended up with woopsie babies, so I just thought I'd warn her. They had done IVF and had fraternal twin boys so she wasn't worried. A week later she walked in and said "your warning was too late!!". She was 5 (yes five) months prego with #3 and had had no idea. The kiddos were only 13 months apart.

My SIL. Her IVF was unsuccessful, so they adopted 2 kiddos. Then she turned up pregnant, and now they have THREE kiddos.

I have a good friend who couldn't conceive for 11 years. She finally did IVF and had her first son. She ended up conceiving her second very unexpectedly. She had been told she would never be able to get pregnant naturally. So, yes, there's always a chance.

My best friend did several unsuccessful rounds of IVF. About a year later I convinced her to go to an real chinese acupuncturist. She had 2 children after acupuncture, they are 2 years apart.

I know of at least 2 people. My ex-boss had rounds of IVF for infertility and had a child through the attempts. I guess after she had him she figured that she couldn't conceive naturally and didn't use any protection. She got a big surprise when the first baby was 9 months old and the stick turned pink. Had a healthy baby girl 9 months later. Another friend had 2 babies through IVF and assumed they were done and couldn't conceive naturally and didn't bother with protection. Surprise! She was amazed and shocked that baby #3 arrived a few years later.

I think it depends on the cause of the infertility. Both of these women had unexplained infertility. Stress takes a huge toll on trying to conceive. Once they stopped trying it happened. Good luck to you!

My husband's cousin and his wife had IVF and had twins (prematurely in May of one year)....then August the following year she gave birth to a healthy baby boy without any assistance. A few years later they had another healthy baby boy. Then 7.5 years ago, another girl. Exept for the initial health issues typical of premature twins, all are healthy.

I don't know about the others, but the last child they had...she was on birth control, thought she was pregnant...home tests said negative and after the 2nd test she went to the doctor who also said "not pregnant". A month later, she demanded a blood test that showed she was pregnant (3 months along!).

I know of a handful of people that have had this happen. I just heard about another one a couple of weeks ago. Her son conceived via IVF is only 1, and she's due next month with a surprise baby girl conceived naturally. Sometimes once the path has been paved, it just happens. Good luck!

My old boss did - twice - sort of.
They did 3 rounds of IVF and nothing.
So they stopped trying and were pregnant 2 months later.
A year after their son was born my boss was thinking how nice it was with one and although they had planned on two he was saying "Honey, maybe one's enough" - that's when she told him "well too bad - child number 2 is already on the way".
Their son and daughter are both in college right now.

I just remembered another one.
A lady I once worked with had a 15 yr old daughter.
The lady had remarried and was trying to have another baby but had no luck so they did IVF and had a baby girl.
Well, her doctor told her "You are done. There's no way you can get pregnant again" and she was fine with that so she relaxed.
8 weeks after giving birth they resumed having sex and low and behold they were pregnant again!
A few months later they found out they were having twins.
The twins were born before the last babys first birthday.
So I guess she had what you could call Irish triplets!
