I know you always hear the stupid "Could I be pregnant" questions and I am sorry for mine but, I guess I am going on hope here...lol

Anyways, I wanted to know what the chances might be of getting pregnant, if you have un-protected sex 9 to 10 days after starting your period?

I am on the first month of "trying" and my husband works out of town alot so 10 days after my period was as close as we could get it to hopefully ovulation.

Also, one more question (you would swear I don't already have two children of my own *grin) when did you first notice signs that you were pregnant? My two were so long ago and not at all planned that all I can remember is my breast being really sore but only right before I found out...which one was at 6 weeks and the other at 5 weeks.

Thanks for taking the time to indulge me...going on hope alone here :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your replies. I know my post was more of a cry for encouragement and though it is extremely early, I am just going on hope. I'm not stressing about it, just hopeful! Oh and funny story real quick I just got back from a mini vacation w my husband and we happen to visit Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum and the the fertility staues were there. Well, I half jokingly rubbed one and my husband corrected me and told that I was suppose to rub both, so I did and signed the book...LOL I just remembered that this morning. Wouldn't that just be hillarious! Then to top it off my sister-in -law out of no where told me today that she had a dream last night that she was pregnant but that the dream was so strange and that the baby was a girl...she remembered telling herself she had to remember it...she is not pregnant nore able so, she of course thinks it is a sign...lol I'll go with that!

Anyways, I am due to start on the 12th so I have a little while till then. I will go on wishing and we shall see, will keep you updated. Send baby dust my way!!

BTW I have been kind of crampy today, nothing painful just kinda achy every so often...might be in my head but whatever...lol

Well Nine out of 10 people. Your most fertile days are about 11 to 16 after the beginning of your period. The the 13-15 day is your main days but you have a higher % on the 11 - 16th days and remember it takes up to 3 days after you have sex for you actually to conceive. That is why you have to basiclly have to wait a month from beginning or your period to the next period to find out if you are pregnant. b/c you have to give your hormones time to elevate a little b/4 a pregnancy test can tell in all honesty. When you take your test and its positive you really aren't but like 10 days pregnant. But people say a month along b/c you go from your last period. Like when you are 3 months along your baby is only 2 1/2 months.

Now I am 4 months pregnant right now with my 2 child and I knew a week before I found out b/c I had a little nausea but not everybody has that symptom. My breast got sore pretty fast too. Take a pregnancy test the day you are suppose to start your next cycle and you should be able to tell.

Good luck! I hope this helps.

Re: your second question, I didn't know right away, and in fact had taken a pregnancy test that was negative (turned out I took it a few days too early to tell, and that was the kind that is supposed to tell you 5 days before your missed period starts or should start), but then I started feeling exactly like I was getting my period...bloaty, then what felt like cramps (apparently that is the egg or fetus attaching itself to the uterus or something like that). I was about to take some Advil for the "cramps" that were starting and then I just "knew" that I might be pregnant so I took another test and sure enough...

9 to 10 days after first day of period? Probably not...most women are fertile anywhere from day 11 or 12 to day 15 or 16 of their cycle. Some ovulate earlier but most do around day 14. Mine changes every month anywhere from 14 to day 16 and i've ovulated as early as day 12. And remember your most fertile the few days leading up to ovulation cuz the swimmers can live in you for a few days.
Noticing i was pregnant for me was not easy..i was charting both times so that was my first clue when i didn't start by a certain point. Heavy feeling in my tummy, crampy...a lot like when you start. Never had sore boobs. Good luck!

I'm not sure I really had any beforehand signs this time around, but I got sick with the flu and we tested before my husband would give me any meds just in case. The only think he could think of is that I started complaining that everything stinks! I'm 8 wks and everything still stinks! The things that stick bring on my nausea, which didn't start until after I started prenatals. With the last one before I miscarried I got very emotional which is very unlike me, actually cried after an arguement with my oldest! I have three boys and with the first one I was having some strange discharge, with the second I was emotional and everything stunk, and with the third my contacts started bothering me. I guess with this one everything just stinks so bad! Hope that helps and good luck!

I think that just depends on when you ovulate. You could be ovulating at that time. I could never go by that b/c when I was supposed to be ovulating I wasn't and I wasn't, I was. Both of my kids were a surprise too! LOL I would just keep doing it whenever you have the chance and hopefully like your other two, this one will happen as well.

Normally ovulation is somewhere around the 14 day after but it is possible. Everyones cycle is different. To increase your chances...look at an ovulation/fertility calender online. There are a bunch of free ones on the internet which may help. Good luck.

It depends on when you ovulate. Is your cycle shorter than 28 days? Sperm live a few days, so it is still possible if you do not have a long cycle. I knew before the pregnancy test was positive for the second one. My breasts were very sore right away. Make sure you are taking your vitamins and good luck!!

The best advice I ever heard was "...just relax and dont stress over it, and it'll happen...". Its okay to get excited if you think you might be and are wanting to, but only of it doesnt lead to misery and stress if you find that you're not. Ditch all the processed foods in your's and your hub's diet's, bulk up on tons of fresh veggies and fruits, put your man in boxers, and rut like rabbits whenever you can. Enjoy the experience and the time together, and your more likely to get the outcome you want. Good luck & congrats! :}

I always mark the first day of my flow on the calendar, so if my period is a week late I take a pregnancy test. I have two kids; I've only been late twice. However, the first time I got pregnant, I got a dreadful migraine during a church function and had to run to the bathroom at a crucial moment - very dramatic. I took the test the following morning, et voila!

Hi from another H. wondering the same thing :) I don't know if this will be helpful or not,I wanted to encourage you and I will be here if you want to chat or anything.I know what you mean about the first pregnancy (in your case 2) being so long ago,not being able to remember how things were. Mine was 7 years ago and I am trying to write everything down this time . We have been trying about a month and I am due to test the 1st of May. I have been feeling sick with sore breasts and being very tired for about a week and if I am pregnant right now,it would be like 3-4 weeks. I didn't know I was pg with my 1st until about 9-10 weeks which is when I started throwing up 24/7.lol Keep trying and it will happen! We have to stay positive!! :) Good luck.
