We live in Dallas and right now our kids would attend Walnut Hill Elem. We're thinking of moving a bit north, to the Withers district. Any inside info on either is greatly appreciated!

Hey Meridith, Do you know me? I think so!
Why not go to both schools and sit in the Kindergarten classes and see what YOU think. You are welcome anyday. It's a public school and open to the public. I am very interested in the Walnut Hill Spanish English Emersion program. Check it out.

Hello

I have a friend and her two children go to whithers. she has had some problems with there attendance. the office has marked them with more absences than they have. i would advise you to go and look at the school i mean take a tour so that you can see what it looks like inside. it is a very older school.

We must be very close (as I live very near Walnut Hill Elem).

I have a 4 year old and have started looking at DISD and other options.

What have you found out, what are your impressions. I am not sure I want my kid attending either school, but we are limited in options for the obvious reason $$$$.

I attended Withers open house (round-up) this spring and was sad to find out that of 4 kindergarten classes only 1 is taught in English (1 is bi-lingual and 2 are totally Spanish). I am not sure what to do.
Walnut Hill Elem--I visited the office and they seemed a little too busy to deal with me (I arrived unannounced on a regular school day just to get some info).

None the less---I don't have an answer either. I am not sure what we will do. My son will be at the Dallas Co-op (a close great pre-K program) for next year. But then???

let me know what you have found out.
SUSAN

If I had my choice of schools in that area I would put my kids in DeGolyer, which is very close...the neighborhood served by DeGolyer is Sparkman Club.
