Hi ladies,
I'm due for my second in Febuary and am just curious about strollers. I want a side by side with lots of storage, lightweight, and seats that recline individually. It also needs to fit in the trunk of my civic. Anyone have one they just love? I'm on my third stroller for my 2 year old, and I'd like to get it right the first time with the double stroller since they cost so much more. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Although stroller styles are a matter of preference, I would recommend a front-back double stroller rather than a side by side. I was very skeptical when the same advice was offered to me 5 years ago, but I found the criticism was definitely true. The side by side is too wide to get in most door ways and it is hard to maneuver in any store. I found the front-back by Graco to be light, easy to open and close and durable. I used it for two years and then was able to sell it to someone else. I never had any problems. My kids are 20 months apart so I got good use out of it everywhere.

I had several doubles (peg perego tender, maclaren twin triumph, phil and teds, peg perego aria twin, etc...).
I don't like tandem strollers (front to back) just because all the brands recomend having the biggest child in the front seat, which makes it extremely difficult to steer. I definitely prefer side by side. And I just don't like Graco's because they are too heavy.
After trying so many strollers I just love the Baby Jogger City Mini Double, although it's a little expensive compared to some others it has some nice features I didn not find in anyone else...
1) Larger wheels can handle indoor and outdoor muuuch better than other strollers
2) HUGE canopies, perfect for the florida sun !!
3) My 20 mos and 3 yr old fit perfectly and nap 2/3 hours each in the stroller without problems
4) folds really easy
The nearest retailer is Baby Love in Sunrise, I recommend you to check it.
The only cons I can think about...it does not take a car seat, folds larger than an umbrella double like the Mac....
Hope it helps,
G.

Hi T.,
Congrats on your new addition. I have a Graco side-by-side. It was about $120 at BabyLove. I've used it for 2 years and it is still going strong. THe name is Duo-something, sorry about not having the actual name. I looked online to comparison shop and this one got good ratings and the only complaint is that the velcro holding the seat cushions slip. That's a problem, that is not really a problem at all. The kids like it too. When my daughter was an infant, I was able to put her car seat in her side of the stroller. She never had a problem.
Good luck,
S.

I have two kids 17 months apart (now 6 months and 2 years), I bought the combi double stroller twin savvy, it's a side by side, lightweight and folds really small, i has two decent siaze bags under the seats, I use it all the time and am very happy with it, it's great for the mall and walking on the sidewalk, I also just purchased a jogging stroller for trips aroud the neighbourhood..

Get the sit and stand, its light and both kids love it! If you give me your email address I will email you a pic of my kids in it. They can have 2 seats faciong eachother. 1 seat in front of the other, and then 1 seat and a bench to stand or sit, its so light weight and vertical so its not hard to fit into doorways. Its also easy to push you can control it with one hand! It also fits into any trunk

I have the Peg Pergo Aria side by side double stroller and love it the storage bin spans under both seats. It turns very easily with one hand and lays very flat when folded. I have three girls now 6, 4, and 18 months so when the 1st two were 2 and just born I used it and again when the baby came and the middle was about three. The only down side is that it is not designed to allow the car seats to click in but if you recline the seat all the way most infant seat will fit in the strolled. Then I just attached a buckle strap around the infant seat and the stroller seat it worked great! Hope this helps
