Hello,
I am pregnant with our second and when the new addition arrives our son will be 20 months old. I was wondering what other moms think about using a double stroller. Also can anyone recommend a specific one. Thanks so much for the help!

What can I do next?

Hi! I was in the same boat as you. My son's are 16 months apart.. they are now one and two years of age and this stroller: http://www.albeebaby.com/grqutoduost61.html is amazing. I have 7 (yes.. seven) strollers and this is definitley my favorite. I also have a Mclaren side by side double but rarely use it as it is hard to undo and the kids are not as comfy in it as this one. Good luck.. and take care.

I absolutely loved our double stroller. It was made by Safety First. I believe COSCO and Eddie Bauer have the same stroller as well. I just picked the Safety First one for the fabric.

I liked it because the front seat can turn around so the kids can face each other when they are older. This also helped to distribute the weight when they were older as well. I also liked it because the cup holder or parent tray was not on the canopy like the Graco stroller. It has a large storage basket underneath and it was easy to access. It has the ability to have the infant carseat in the front or back and the bars get stowed away neatly under the seats. The material of the one I had was very easy to clean and when I sold it a few months ago it still looked brand new, after using it for two complete years! I have recommended this stroller to many people and they love it as well. It is a little on the bigger side, but it was worth it! It was so comfortable and roomy for the kids. I bought mine at Burlington Coat Factory.

Hi there - I have a 26 month old and an almost 3 month old. I ended up registering for and recieving the "Contours Options Tandem" by Kolcraft. What I like about it is that it works with many different car seats, the seats move to different configurations, large basket and it's pretty easy to stear. It is a little large for me because I have a 4 door sedan, so it takes up most of the trunk space. Other then that I really like it and it gets the job done. You can purchase it through babiesrus.com (not in stores, amazon.com and walmart.com.

The other one that looks interesting and I wish I had noticed it before, is the "Sit and Stand Elite Stroller" offered through onestepahead.com. This too is versitle with many different car seat brands. Plus it allows you to use it as a double stroller or a Sit and Stand. Weight limit goes to 45lbs which is higher then most.

Good luck

I have found that the Graco Quatro Duo stroller is the best. It costs around $229.00 but is well worth the money. When my 2nd daughter was born I had a newborn and another that was 22 months. Its great because it can have the car seat in either the front or the back and it has the easy entry for the front seat when used for the toddler. If you would like to see one look at www.gracobaby.com or if you are close to a babies r us they have a model there that you can test out in the store. Good luck!

I have two children ages 3 years and 9 months. For my baby shower my family purchased a double or Sit n' Stand stroller for me and I love it!!! Joovy makes it and it comes it fun colors. I have not seen them in stores, but you can find them anywhere online. They are priced right if you are on a budget. I found mine easy to use and I do not go anywhere without it. Good Luck:)

I bought a double stroller for my daughter before her second son was born. It has a nice big back area for the "travel system", but the front chair for the toddler is very small. It does stroll nicely, but I would look for one that does not have such a small area for the toddler to sit.

I have an almost 3 year old daughter and am pregnant with number 2. I used to watch one of my friends baby and the double stroller was a god send. I have the double stroller from graco adn I love it. I will be using the single stroller most of the time when my son is born but for trips to the mall and other places where there is a lot of walking the double stroller is wonderful. I absolutely love it.

Our children are 19 months apart and we used a side by side stroller and it worked great-it's also alot lighter than the double strollers that are front to back. Name brand ( I think) is Jeep from babys r us and fairly inexpensive.

I would recommend NOT getting a side by side or a full length double stroller. I regretted it as they are so bulky to push around. There are all kinds of very cool more compact strollers these days and even the kind where the older child sits or stands. I didn't think I'd want that, but regretted my decision. The big bulky strollers are a pain :) Don't have any specific recommendations, just wanted to throw that out there.

My oldest two are 19 months apart. I used the Evenflo double stroller for about a year (actually, I used two, because one got broken on an airplane). I kind of liked it. It's not that great, but it fit our budget. Then, when #2 hit about a year, we bought a Sit-N-Stand. It's wonderful. I still have our orignal one, and used it just last week with our infant in the front, and the older two taking turns on the back.

I also LOVE the Sit n stand! I have a nearly 3 yo and a 4mo old and I have several friends that use this one with their younger kids. It is only like $130 at target online (get the one with the adult cupholders!). It folds up smaller than my graco travel system I got for my older son so it fits in my little trunk and it is fairly lightweight. It fits through doorways and turns very easily unlike side by sides. I have found a few drawbacks: The storage area isn't great for big diaper bags so I got one that hooks onto the handle bar (also keeps my toddler in his seat), if your older one likes to sleep in the stroller they can't in this one, mine never has so I haven't had a prob there.
