We will eventually need to buy a double stroller for a newborn and a 26 month old. I was wondering whivh strollers you love, like, or hate. What are the features you can't live without? If possible, we are hping for one that will be compatible with a graco infant seat, but that could change if there is a much better stroller. My husband is in the military, so there are lots of times where we will be on our own, just me and the kiddos (even if he isn't deployed)! Thanks for the input!

What can I do next?

Sit and Stand! It is especially good for the two year old who won't sit in the stroller. I had one of those kids, but after a mile or two of walking he would get tired, and having a spot for him on the stroller was way better than trying to carry him!

BabyBunching.com is a website about having 2 kids under 2 and has a long list of double stroller descrip. (pros/cons) and just lots of great info about having kids close together. Mine are 13 months apart and it was a lifesaver. Good luck!

I bought a bunch of double strollers when my daughter was born, because my son was only 18 months old. I LOVED my Combi for about 8 or 9 months, but then the difference in the weights between my older and younger child made pushing a side-by-side more difficult.

I really love my Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem stroller. http://www.kolcraft.com/baby-products/contours-options-ta...

We still use the Kolcraft for trips to the zoo, etc., and our youngest is now almost two. It is soooo versatile, with a universal car-seat carrier as well as two seats that can be arranged in any number of ways, including facing you, facing each other, etc. It has a ton of space for diaper bags, etc., and cup holders for you. Downsides are that it's big and heavy, and you have to take it a bit apart to fold it up. It's pretty big for just shopping trips or something, and I find it heavy to push on walks when we're going up hills, etc.

Another good option is a Sit & Stand. The storage space is tiny, and the seat for the standing child is not comfortable, but your older child can choose to sit or stand, and it's much easier for the kid to get in or out. I know the Graco brand, at least, takes a Graco car seat easily. I think this is a really good choice for a shorter trip like out shopping or something, but I don't like it as much for outings or times when the older child may get tired and actually want to sit. Good luck.

Love my Combi.....it is very lightweight, and very compact. It is so compact that if I am at the mall with the kids, I can slide it under the table instead of leaving it outside. We just took it to Disney with us and ours was so much easier to take on the monorail, buses, & boats, than watching others with their bulky strollers.

I am embarrassed to say, but I have 3 double strollers, but I do use them all.

My favorite (and holds my Graco infant seat) - Elite Double Navigator jogging stroller by Baby Trend - about $250 -- http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId... It is REALLY easy to use & to fold. We have brought it through the airport with us, and each seat holds up to 50 lbs, which is pretty much the highest I have seen.

I also have a tandem Graco DuoGlide, which I have used a ton for 3 years. It was probably about $150 . It has served its purpose very well, which is primarily for going to the mall so that I can fit thru the aisles & doorways. It has also traveled many times.

My husband is almost NEVER around during the daylight hours, so I am on my own with 3 kids all the time. Zoos, parks, museums, walks, malls--bring the strollers everywhere.

When I was pregnant with my second I found a set that had double stroller and an infant car seat. Gracco is the brand, I think I got it at target or babies r us. The other car seat for the first was also gracco so it snapped into place too. Good luck!

City select with the second seat. It turns on a dime, is only a few inches bigger than a single stroller with the second seat on. So easy to fold and unfold. I have a 9 month old and 3 yr old. I bought the chicco double at first and hated it. Sucked it up and paid the money for this. Best decision ever. My husband travels 75% of the month and i use this everywhere I go

I bought a Phil and Ted when my first was born. I knew my kids would be close together in terms of age (21 months).

It's fabulous, best purchase I made.

I asked this same question not too long ago. I ended up buying a used double bob. It was only used 3 times so I really lucked out. We absolutely love it. I workout with both my girls strapped in stroller on a daily basis. It is so easy to push and turns easily. There is plenty of storage space and great sunshade. I just started using it now that my baby is 5 months and doesn't need infant carrier. I have chicco carseat which doesn't fit in double bob. I also have the joovey sit and stand. I don't like it bc the infant seat hit the Childs head sitting in the back. Maybe we will like it more now that baby can sit normally. Typically I use my single chicco stroller and snap infant seat in and my 3 yr old walks or reverse. 3 yr old rides and I wear the baby.

I have seen this question a few times and it makes me laugh because my 2-yo will not sit in a stroller. When we have baby #2 we will just use the regular stroller for baby, and my 2-yo will happily walk.

Best of luck finding a good one, maybe you will have a walker too and can keep your regular stroller!

The Phil and Teds E3 Sport is my FAV!! I will never ever buy another. (and you can take the doubles kit off when you just want a single) I bought saddle bags for the sides and a sunshine cup holder and they work wonders. It has a basket with a net behind also but you can't put too much in there if you want to use the doubles kit (hence the saddle bags) Also, it pushes like a dream. I got mine on clearance in a blue cammo print. It is narrow and has great turning capabilites. My back doubles kit does recline but only slightly but never been an issue, she still sleeps well in there. LOL. Top seat reclines flat though

When the girls were little (They are 21 mod apart), we had a Phil and Ted.

Plus
Narrow Base
Baby can actually lay of it like a cot
Can change configurations
Easy to Push

Downside
Pricey but we used it for 4 years and had passed it on
Back seat does not recline
No storage space but you can purchase sidebars for it

Overall: Loved this stroller

I believe that if you add the carrier to the stroller that the older child will be feeling a bit confined. They take up so much room she will need to be there with the carrier when you purchase the stroller and that way you can see if she has enough head room and elbow room.

I had a Craco or Evenflo one and loved it. I used it at Walmart and when we went to the kids schools for free lunches during the summer programs. I carried trays on the hood over the baby part and stuff everything into the bottom basket when I was shopping. It was not out of sight so it was not out of sight and therefore considered to be shoplifting.

I used at the mall and when we went to the fair. It was my most used item I ever bought. I used up until the little guy was at least 2 and the older girl was about 5. If they can fit an not have feet dragging then it got used.

I got a jeep side by side, it has no area underneath to put stuff which I hate and the 5 month old is constantly grabbing at my 3 yr old and her lovie which makes her scream. I would get a.sit and stand that I.could clip a carseat into if I could turn back time, lol.

We have two double strollers: the Baby Jogger City Select with the Double Kit is the best stroller. We use that for doctor's appointments, shopping, errands, etc.. It is so well thought through. It is an in-line double, so you can maneuver through aisles easily. It folds and stores easily. It washes well. There is plenty of storage space. There are many positions for the seats. It can also be used as a single. We also have the BOB Dualie for exercising. This can also fit through doorways and down aisles, but is much bulkier, but is awesome for running. These two strollers are expensive, but have been hands down the best purchases for us as a family. They have paid for themselves tenfold. I call them my life line because I am also alone most of the time and need to be able to get out with the girls with ease.

I had a BOB revolution with the infant seat adapter and loved it. Pricey but I also ran with them and needed a good stroller.
