I used them with my son and will be using them with my second son due in 3 weeks. I love them. Yes, there are more pieces to wash but it's worth it. My son had really bad gas which made him cranky until we switched to the Dr Brown's bottles. He never latched so I had to pump and bottle feed. My sister is a pediatrician and she also recommends them and uses them with her newborn. They come in both glass bottles and BPA free bottles.

They are miracle workers. My son suffered with reflux as a newborn. His pediatrician suggested these, and we haven't had a problem since. I highly recomend them.

Once I weaned my last child, I started using Dr. Brown's I love them. They definitely do prevent gas. When I weaned my other daughter, she didn't like the Dr. Brown's. I used the Playtex with disposable liners. They also work well and prevent gas.

I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Brown's bottles! A friend of mine used them with her son, and because of what my friend said I used them exclusively with my daughter. My daughter never had colic and almost never spit up. My sister-in-law used the same bottles with her first son and is now using a brand-new (no BPA) set with her second son, and she's a fan too. I'm sure that there are many good bottles, but you won't go wrong with Dr. Browns'!

Dr. Browns are AWESOME! If your child is the least bit gassy, they are worth it. They take a little longer to clean, but I think they are worth the time. They make them BPA free now too.

My first baby was colicky and we switched to Dr. Brown. I can't say that it cured the colic, but it helped a little. My second baby has never had a problem.

They were a life saver. My son was sooo picky about what bottles he would use. He stopped nursing at 8 months and I tried every bottle out there after spending what felt like a million dollars on bottles that were never used, we found these. I agree with the previous comment about all of the parts, but if you buy a few of them it's not that big of a deal. Also all of the pieces fit perfectly into the dishwasher bottle holder thingy so I never felt like germs were an issue. Anytime a girlfriend of mine has a baby I buy a Dr. Brown's starter set for them it's 29.99 and includes Two 4-oz. bottles, three 8-oz. bottles with accessories, tote bag, bottle brush and ice pack, 2 extra nipples, 3 mini brushes and 2 caps. Hope this helps :)

There are the greatest things out there. My son had terrible gas and within 1 week of using Dr. Brown's bottles, it was gone. He later graduated to the sippy cups. There were great, too. I give them as shower gifts all the time. The company stands behind their products as well. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr.Browns bottles and sippy cups. Peace, T.

I bought one of them. When I got it home I took it apart to clean it. As I stood there waiting for the water to boil I looked at the pieces involved and I was a little concerned about being able to get them clean all of the time. Let's face it with a new baby you can't wash a bottle right away every time. I decided that the germs just wern't worth it for the price. I used the Gerber ones that are bent. They were great.

Hi A.
I used Dr. Brown's bottles when my LO wasn't nursing. He did fine with them. Bottles and nipples, like many baby items, are trial and error. You may have to try a few brands before you find one that you like and that baby likes. Good luck

I used them with my daughter, who is 2 now. She never had a problem with gas pains like alot of my friends' kids did because they don't allow them to gulp. I think they are just great and plan on using them again with baby #2! Good luck!

I think they are great and yes I have to agree that they are a big expensive. But they are so worth it for the baby. Once you get use to the clean up it's no big deal. I had wished that I knew about them sooner.

Yes they do work but just buy one at first and see if it does anything because they are a big pain in the butt and so hard to clean. They are also very expensive. So worth it if your child has bad gas or reflux though.

We used the Dr. Brown's bottles from birth and our daughter loved them. She never threw up and rarely had burps or gas. At first I was really put off by all the parts, putting them togeher, cleaning, etc., but after the first couple of days, it was all second nature. Our daughter, now 3.5 yrs., uses them as bottles for her dolls and can even put them together properly.

To clean them, we used the silverware basket in our dishwasher. We would just take them completely apart, through them in the dishwasher and that was that. To clean the straw part, we would put it over one of the tines of the upper rack in the dishwasher along with the bottle part. Very easy.

I used them with all four of my kids and they seemed to work great. I enjoyed using them. I am also trying the new "sippy" cup and so far so good.

They worked great for the twins I nanny for. They were huge gulpers of air and Dr. Brown's bottles kept them from doing that. Yes there are a lot of parts to clean but as long as you take them apart and rinse when you empty the bottle they can either go through the dishwasher or be left to hand wash later. I had no issues with them getting nasty until they turned one and switched to milk. If we leave them sitting with milk in them they tend to grown things but we didn't have this problem with the formula. They come with a tiny straw size brush to clean the pieces.

Every mom I know uses either those or the playtex with liners. both seem to work, altho the dr brown's is slightly better. however, there is still concern of carcinogens leaking into the milk if it's at all warm with the plastic liners. Thus, if prefer to avoid the toxins, dr brown's is best. If that doesn't bother you (I know some moms who do whatever because science is always changing it's opinion and thus whatever YOU as a mom think is best for your child and your family IS best), then I'd recommend you go with the playtex. It's what we used.....I figured since we only buy organic, chemical-free food/drink and use only unbleached, chemical free diapers it would even out.

Again, the answer as usual is do what's best for you and your family :)

I have used them and they did help decrease my son spitting up but it didn't totally end. I would use the playtex with disposable inserts if I had it to do all over....they helped just as much. I switched when I found our Dr Brown's were made with BPA.

My nephews that I used to babysit for use Dr. Brown's. They are good bottles and they really do prevent gas. There are more parts to clean, but it's worth it if you're worried about gas.
I breastfed my daughter, but when she used a bottle a few times a week, we used Avent. They worked well for her. We never had any problems with gas.

My stepdaughter used them and my niece used them. All I could see is that they were a pain in the butt to use and cost too much. I used the Parent's Choice bottle for both of my children. My children are 3 1/2 and 1. The one year old used her brother's hand me down bottles. They hold up better and there are no valve to try to clean and replace. I never did figure out how to clean my granddaughter's bottles.

Hi A. I have used Dr Brown bottles. I used them for my now four year old and she had colic extremely BAD, when we started using them I could see a difference nothing major but she was eating more and sleeping a little. My second child has no problems or signs of problems colic, but we have still used the bottles on her and she takes them very well. I have noticed that if the bottle has any air or air bubbles it stays in the tube of the bottle while she eats and I have always used them and they are expensive but I feel like they worked:) Hope this works!!
