My favorite niece is turning 6 this week. She has a 4 year old sister and an almost 2 year old brother. I'm looking for gift ideas for her. My sister just says..."She wants everything." Lol. Not much help. She's totally girlie, but my sister doesn't want small items b/c of the 2 year old. Help!!!

What can I do next?

If she is in to Fancy Nancy, there are some "Easy Reader" books starring the fancy girl with a fabulous vocabulary (she may be still into the picture book stories, too)! A pretty dress or springy skirt and new cute socks wouldn't be a problem for her brother, either. My 7 year old son loves the novelty of Twistables crayons and draws like crazy. You could also go for a fancy journal with her initial on it (they have them at Michael's). My fancy 4 year old LOVES silk flowers (because they don't die), and I got her a bunch from the dollar store so she can decorate her room. Have fun deciding!

My daughter is turning 6 in 2 weeks, she has been asking for Password Journal 2011 by Mattel...it's close to $40 (YIKES), but it has 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

Twinkle Toes shoes are a hit at that age

How about some cute sundresses and sandals? My assumption is, all those she had from last year are going to be too short for this summer....that's the boat we are in!!

Get her something like a dress and shoes and then take her to have her toes and fingers painted (not a full mani and pedi-just a polish) and it was only cost you about $10-$15. AND you can get yours done too which is a bonus!!!

I know it may be too late but thought I would share my "guide" on gifts for girls 4-6 years old. My daughter just turned 4, thus the list. It's been a hit with the grandparents, aunts, uncles, other friends who had no clue what to get a little girl. And my daughter has loved what she has received from the guide (charm bracelet, American Girl doll, pillow pet, Melissa & Doug stuff, etc.)

Let me know if you have anything to add.

I'd go with any kind of craft kit, go to Michael's. I'm sure there are some that dont' have beads or tiny things - Suncatchers, paint by number, fashion design ones, etc.

How about a subscription to a magazine like National Geographic for Kids - most kids this age *love* getting mail with their name on it, and it'll give her something to look forward to reading every month.

I say give her the gift of YOUR TIME. With smaller siblings in the house she likely would love some one on one time. Take her out to lunch if you want to do something else for her, you could get her nails painted at a nail salon, out to buy a new shirt or dress, take her to Build A Bear or to a children's museum or the zoo.

Kids probably get enough STUFF. But she'll be talking about her GIRLS DAY OUT for years to come.

(My SIL is doing something like this for my oldest child this month too. We don't need anymore toys, so getting some one on one time is going to be a HUGE hit.)

I second the Twinkle Toes! The movie Tangled just came out on DVD if she likes that. My daughter is 6 and loves all things crafty as well.
