HATE New Pampers...

Ok, so since my son was born, I've been using Pampers and have loved them!! Lately they have changed from the dry weave inside to something else and my poor son leaks through them at night. Do any of you know a better diaper? My son is 9 months!!

What can I do next?

I always loved the Pampers Swaddlers. I never liked the other Pampers after the Swaddlers are outgrown. We like just the plain Huggies, not the Huggies Supreme.

I love luvs diapers. They seem to work well with my two boys. I have used other diapers including pampers and luvs seems to work the best for my boys. They also seem to fit the best on them, and the best part is, is that they are cheaper than pampers.

Can't help you specifically with Pampers diapers, but I know about that age my son started leaking at night in his huggies...I got the overnight diapers and that worked. A few months later, no leaking with the regular diapers. May just be this time of his life...try the overnight diapers to see if it helps.

I have a guess about what is happening to you. but I could be wrong. Had you been buying Pampers swaddlers and your son just grew out of the Swaddlers sizes (Newborn, 1 &2) and now you have moved up to the next kid of diapers, are you now buying Pampers Baby Dry? They are the cheaper kind of Pampers and do not have the nice weave stuff in there. The ones that have the nice weave in them are the Pampers Cruisers, which I am sure than your 9 month old will fit into now. Just a guess. I have switched to Luvs recently from Pampers just because the Luvs are cheaper. They have been working fine for me!

I use Huggies Overnites with my daughter & they work like a charm. We have only had maybe 2 leaks overnight in at least a year. I highly recommend them!

I guess every baby is different, but we were having a similar problem until I tried the Target brand diapers on a whim...they are great!! They have cute little blue and green polka dots on them, they feel soft and we are NOT having leak problems anymore (No. 1 or No, 2) like we were when I was using Pampers or Huggies...My son is almost 10 months....

I had that problem 14 years ago with my first child. I am on number three now and we use Walmart, H.E.B., and Target brand diapers. They have worked just fine and way better than Pampers. If you are into name brands, I always liked Huggies too.

We have been a fan of the Member's Mark diapers from Sam's through 4 kids. We almost never have a problem with leaking, and they are a deal. I just purchased a box of 200 size 3 diapers for $30. And they don't have that perfumey smell a lot of diapers have that reminds me of a maxi pad.

If you haven't tried cloth diapers then perhaps it's a good time to do so. If you don't want to wash the diapers, or have time to, then using a diaper service is a great way to get all the benefits of cloth without the work. Go to http://www.bluebonnetdiaperservice.com to see what a diaper service can do for you. After all, cloth diapers have been around for centuries prior to disposables.

I agree with the Huggies Overnight....best diapers ever!!! My daughter will be in them for at least 12 hours and we have never had a problem with them leaking. (For everyday diapers we just use the Parent's choice at Walmart)

NONE of the name brands were leak proof on my kids. Pampers always had a whiff of petroleum when I opened the package - I figured that couldn't be good, so I definitely did not use them. We always used Wal-Mart brand and never, never had a leaking problem. They were always the best fit too.

Huggies in the red box are my fav. My 13 mo has MAJOR #2 blowouts a few times a day and very rarely leaks.

My kids would always leak out of Pampers. So I started trying Huggies and they too were not leak proof. Then I went with the generic brand at babies r us. They worked like a charm. My daughter has leaked out of the more expensive diapers but she is doing great with Luvs. They are so good. I always had it in my mind that the name brand would be better. They are not. Even Parents from Wal Mart are pretty good. Buy small packages of whatever you choose to try out for a few days. You'll find your comfort.

I see you have lots of replies...
my son did the same thing at that age. I tried Huggies Premium which is Little Movers (used to be called Natural Care). I buy Pampers Baby Dry for the day time and Huggies Premium for night time.
I didn't think there was a "night time" diaper for this size kid....
Now my 2nd son is 4 months and nothing keeps his leaky poop in. ugh.
Good luck.

Hi P.,
I'm unsure of any changes to Pampers (we are in the Cruisers and you may still be in the Swaddlers). The Pampers Cruisers are awesome for daytime use (Huggies always leaked for us with our little boy), as are the Luvs, which we occasionally bought when our son was younger.

For nighttime use, we have been in the Huggies Overnites since Connor was about the same age as your son. THEY ARE AWESOME!!! He has had about one or two leaks in an entire 1 1/2 YEARS of using them. Tip: get one size bigger in the Huggies Overnites than you use for your daytime diaper.

Good luck!

I'm not sure which type of Pampers you were using... but it sounds different than what we use. We use the Pampers Cruisers for our 15 month old - switched to it right after he outsized the Swaddlers, and have been really content. Used them for our 2 year old too.

When I tried other brands, they leaked horribly. The only times we've really had issues with the Cruisers are when the diapers have been too soaked for some reason (too much to drink before bed, etc.) or the boys needed to move up to the next size (when it comes out the top of the back - yuck).

I have been really happy with the generic (Kirkland) brand at Costco. They are cheaper than most which is really nice. And since changing to them we haven't had one leaky diaper (we switched about 6 months ago) when before I felt like it was happening regularly. The nice thing about Costco is that if you try them and they don't work, you can bring the unused portion back and they will refund your money...they have a satisfaction guarantee on everything (and I asked at least 3 different employees before I tried them and they all assured me it was not an problem)>

I was the same way with Pampers and started using Fisher Price diapers but the only bad thing is you can only purchase them at Babys R Us but they are wonderful. They hold a lot if you know what I mean plus they give you in the box, night time diapers or ones that you may need to travel with for those extra long hours. Now that I have disovered these, I will never use anything else. Hope this works for you :)

I agree! They even claim to last all night and they really don't! The ONLY diaper we have found to really last all night is Huggies Overnights. They start at size 3 and go up and they are WONDERFUL. My 2 year old's size 4 never leaks even though she still wears the overnight diaper for about an hour after getting up (has to watch her barney to wake up before wanting a diaper change). They sell them size 4 and up at all the normal stores, but for size 3, you have to go to Babies R Us or order online.

Huggies overnight. We started using these about 15mo. They are great. There is always a coupon and good sales at Kroger.

If you have a Costco membership, the Kirkland brand has worked well for us. If not, I used Luvs in the past when my first two started leaking out of the Pampers.

We use Luvs and think they are great but my son will leak through his diaper at night. He sleeps for 10 hours or more. Anyway, we recently tried Pampers Baby Dry Overnight Extra Protection Diapers and they are awesome. We havent had one incident since we started using these at night...we still use Luvs during the day. Hope this helps!
