I have a 19 month old daughter and am due to have a baby in Feburary. I have been doing research on some double strollers and I am having a hard time finding a good one that is affordable. The one's that seem good are over $700! Crazy! I like the idea of the tandem strollers better than the side by side. And I want one that I can snap the baby's carseat/carrier on. If anyone has any suggestions about what ones are good and what ones are bad, please let me know. I think that the Combi Counterpart 2 seems like a good one, but I'm not crazy about the colors. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well after hours, and hours of trying out various types of tandem and twin strollers...we finally decided on the Combi twin savvy LX. I really love it. It handles so well and is so smooth. It is thin enough to fit through small isles and doorways. It is a tad bit smaller in width than a wheelchair or a shopping cart. And just wheeling my daughter on one side with the other side empty it wasn't hard to manuever at all! It is the only side by side that takes an infant carseat and my daughter still has room. And it is so light! It is only 21 pounds!! And it folds down really small. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that there is no cupholders for me and the storage baskets are really small! But we easily found a cupholder attachment and a hook to hang my diaper bag on. Not any stroller had everything I wanted so I had to pick and choose what was important. But I want to thank everyone for their advice it really helped us on our long day of stroller shopping!!

I have twin 14 month old twin girls - and we have used the Graco duo tandum double stroller since they were born. It has been great-I would definetly use a tandum rather than a side by side- because it is very hard to manuever in a store with the side by side.

I LOVED my Jeep double stroller, with the steering wheel and toys in the front. SO much storage, can be used with a ton of carseats, and could be folded compactly enough for the back of my minivan. I recommend it!

We have a 10 month old and I'm 5 months pregnant now. We're getting the Graco Quattro Tour because we have the single now and I love it. It has all the bells and whistles, which I didn't think I would need and I totally do. Time, temperature, cupholders, big basket and secret compartments-all things I love. The double is just as great, though heavier and has better steering handles due to the bigger size. I looked all over and found the best choices for fabrics on the Graco website. I hate the black and grey choices in stores...they're horrible! I have to look at the stroller everyday, so I have to love the color!

I got the Graco Duo and hated it. My friend actually told me she wished I had asked her because she hates hers too. Both of ours had cannopies that broke off. It is heavy and difficult to steer. I wish I had gotten a side by side. My advice is to try the stroller out in the store or someone else's stroller. Put your 19 month old in both the front and the back with a carrier filled with about 10 lbs of something that would be your test "baby" and see if you like it and can steer it around. I gave up. I now have a stroller that has a back seat for my daughter to sit in if she wants. We only take it when I know we will walking for a long time, otherwise she walks. She is a little older than 19 months though.

I have two double strollers. I have a Graco Duo & a Jeep stroller. Both are tandem. The Jeep stroller is pretty neat with the stearing wheel on it. My son loves to pretend he is driving. A car seat can be attached to the second seat, which was a great feature when my son was too small to sit in the stroller seat. I have ended up using the Graco Duo more than the Jeep, though, because it is the one that I keep in the house to use for our daily walks. We bought the Jeep stroller because it would fit in the trunk of my car so that's where it stays most of the time. We are getting ready to sell our car and are going to also sell the Jeep stroller as well. If you are interested I live in Winchester & we could meet for you to check it out. Good luck!

Hi K.,
I have 3 boys myself and love this double stroller I found. I was walking through the mall one day and actually stopped another mom to ask her about this stroller. It's called a Joovy Caboose. It's a sit or stand stroller for toddlers up to three or four year olds and comes with an attachment for the front seat to turn into an infant seat carrier. Here's a link to it in amazon and it comes in more colors than this one. I bought mine at Babies-R-Us in Waldorf, MD if that's any help. The only downside I have with it is that it's a little heavy, but most double strollers are I've found. Congrates on the new baby coming!

I hope this helps you out some hun.

This is the double stroller I have. My boys are 4 1/2 months and 33 months . I like this stroller, but have a difficult time with room for laying the two seat back at the same time. It makes it difficult. My suggestions would be to test out the stroller before you buy it. Make sure there is plenty of room the lay both kids down to sleep. I totally recommend a tandem stroller. It's much easier than double wide. Good luck searching! :)

K.,

I read all the other responses, and have read a lot of reviews of various reviews of double strollers online. I have two girls (now 2 1/2 and 1 1/2), but I have a different perspective on weight and ease of turning, etc. than a lot of other mothers, because I never started with a single stroller. I adopted my girls together at 5 mos and 1 1/2 yrs. So here is my advice. Go inexpensive. All the bells and whistles don't matter a whit once the older one starts to scream that she wants to walk, and when she is riding, she is kicking or pulling at her little brother or sister. It will happen sooner or later. Of course, since big sister was walking a few minutes ago, the baby, who is now out of the carrier, is in the front. Why not get the view if you are the only one riding, right? The more features you have, the heaver it is. The heavier it is, the harder to turn. Remember, the diaper bag, your stuff, the weight of the stroller, and the weight of two little girls makes for quite a load to push. I figured out one day at a fair, that my husband was pushing close to 80-85lbs across a field. My rambling point is that nothing moves easily at that weight, and moving two around will never be a easy as getting one where you want her with all her sundry paraphernalia.

Make sure you have a place to put your bag and a drink or two, and that you can get in and out of the basket in the bottom. We have the Graco Duo Glider - yes, the front canapy broke off, and Graco replaced it for free, because it was a design flaw. Soon enough you will be moving up to a Sit-N-Stand (someone else described one of those), and then back to the single (maybe) before giving it all up.

Whatever you decide on strollers, enjoys you daughter and new little one :o)

I was having issues finding a double stroller when I finally decided on the Phil & Ted E3 Sport Buggy with the Doubles Kit. Yes, it is $500 but it is worth every penny. My sons are 26 months apart and it's been a life saver! My newborn can lay down flat while my older son rides in the toddler seat above.
I felt this was the better buy also because my older son prefers to walk. And with the P & T, we're not committed to a double stroller and my younger one will have this stroller as a single forever.
If we ended up with the traditional double (which we were going to get the Combi), what would be do when our older son turned 4 and my 2 year old still wants to ride in the stroller? We'd have to get another single and hold onto the double, get rid of it, or sell it.

I bought this in Febuary. As of then it was not sold in stores but you could purchase it from most big retailers.I got mine from Walmart and they shipped it to my local store for me to pick up.Free of charge.Down side is they don't have a snack tray for the kids but that really is my only compaint.Hope this helps.Oh and the run around $200.00.Happy hunting!

I borrowed a side by side from my sister-in-law for a short time and concluded that I didn't like that design. I felt it was harder to navigate because it was so wide and an infant and toddler weight difference was too great. I would suggest only getting one that has the seats one in front of the other.

On the issue of color: Since you have found one that is the style and price you like don't fret over the color. No one is going to judge how good of a mom you are based on that. Most likely a mom draging one, pushing one, and hauling bags will envey your lovely traveling arrangement and not even notice the ugly color.

Graco Duo Glider tandem stroller is incredible! You can clip the carrier(s) onto the stroller and when the child is older they have the seat(s). The seat covers are removable and washable and in three years I only replaced the front canopy...my boys were putting it up and down a lot. (Very inexpensive to replace - maybe $25) I have three year old twins who out grew it last summer and the stoller was a life saver.

Hello, my name is K. and I am a 29 year old stay at home mom. I have a 2 year old and we are expecting a new addition in April. I apologize for not having a response to your question because I am looking for an answer as well, but I noticed that you enjoy camping and I am curious to know where some nice campgrounds are in the seven cities. My husband and I have never been camping and we are interested in planning a trip in the future. Any suggestions would help, thanks!
