Hi,

I recently spilled syrup on my rug, it's not a shag rug, its a short haired rug. Any ideas on what I can use to get it up. I did try my new carpet cleaner vac, but you can still see it.

Any ideas, please pass to me.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

All,

Thanks for your responses, I ended up using Sol-U-Mel as my neighbor had this on hand. And I actually sprayed it directly on the rug and wiped it out with a damp paper towel. It worked like a charm! Thanks so much for passing the info along.

I just want to say I am sooo relieved to hear other moms have kids who do that. I thought mine was the only one.
BTW I really like the Melaluca products, too!

S.,
I use Clorox Oxy Magic. It comes in a spray. It's amazing. We use it for everything. I have 2 dogs and a baby. Any mess that they have made, it has gotten rid of it. From poop to nail polish, to grease. It doesn't mess with the color of your carpet, and it doesn't smell weird either. It actually smells kinda nice. Hope this helps.

I have found that Woolite Oxy cleaner works great. You can get it in a spray, but it also comes in nice little hand scrubber that you squeeze some of the liquid on the stain and then it has a little comb/scrubber to work it into the stain.

It really works wonders.

My other favorite cleaning find is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It's amazing!! Great for almost any hard surface.

Hope it works just as well for you.

Typical house hold product remedy for many a mess.

Use Luke Warm Water and shaving cream to gently rub area.
This works best on Markers and nail polish.

Good luck,

This is what I put in my carpet steamer: Hot water, An ounce or so of Solumel, An ounce or so of Tough & Tender. This combination works great for me! Much better than anything else I've used in the past. :)

I use Melaleuca products. My kids went and spilled syrup all over my rug once while I took a shower. Yes, they were in big trouble!! Smeared butter in it also. Had a great time.

I put the Melaleuca cleaning products, Sol-U-Mel and MelaMagic in my steam vac. It came out very quickly and never was sticky or attracted dirt again. An added bonus is that there is NO chemicals in these products, so it was safe to use around my kids and cats. I even got these products for free!
