Hey Ladies!! I am about 5-10 pounds away from being to my pre-pregnacy weight, but I would love to lose more. I have recently stopped breastfeeding so I don't have a problem with cutting back on calories. I am looking for advice on any ways to lose weight quickly. I am open to almost anything. I also stopped breast feeding about 2 weeks ago, however, my milk has not yet gone away yet. Do you guys have any advice on getting my milk to go away?? Please help me!!

I think the best way to lose the baby fat is to breastfeed. I have only 5lbs. left to lose, & have been breastfeeding exclusively for 3 months (though I know this isn't possible for everyone). I read that women who breastfeed lose more weight more quickly than those who don't and diet. Good luck!

D.,

I recently tried The Fat Flush Plan by Anne Louise Gittleman. It's a two week program. I stayed on it for 9 days (and didn't follow her menu exactly) and I lost 7 lbs. Imagine If I stayed on for the entire two weeks!

I'm going to be starting again in a few days since I have a wedding I'm trying to slim down for......

Best of luck.

Have you tried using cabbage to reduce your milk supply? In August I stopped nursing and was full of milk for a week. My sister suggested wrapping cabbage leaves on each breast (changing the cabbage every hour). Within 3 or 4 days the milk was gone.

Take care,
F.

I have lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks....i have been exercising regularly and cutting my calories. the main thing for me is to journal my food. You need to write everything down you eat. This really works.

No advice on the Breastfeeding thing. And if I was anywhere near Kenosha I would love to get together! If you are ever in the Worth area let me know.

When I gained a lot of weight, I used Weight Watchers. They helped tremendously! It's like $11/week to go to the meeting, but you don't have to buy any of their food. It helps to be committed and to have people to talk to about your triumphs and even your troubles of reaching your goal. I know they have rules about pregnancy though (have to have been not pregnant for so long before you can join).

Hello! I have also been doing South Beach and it has worked wonders! It is SO easy to do. The first two weeks are the hardest, but after that it is smooth sailing!! I lost 15 pounds in a month and a half. I bought the book and read that first. It is really an easy diet to do! Good luck!!!

D.:

a) weight loss is basically expending mroe than you are taking in... bike, walk, run, swim... increase your exercise and eat healthy...

that said often our bodies change with pregnancy... sometimes they do not go back to where they were...

b) milk often is in the breast for some time after ceasing to breastfeed... many reasons for this. relax/ stop checking to see if the milk is there.. that will only stimulate the breast to make more.

My daughter is 17 months and I still have about 6 lbs to lose. I gained 50 lbs, so my case may be extreme. I did a variety of things at each stage. I mostly watch calories (about 1400 a day) and excercise, occasionally I cut sugar or dairy all together for a few weeks. I've also done just fruits and veggies for a few weeks to clean my system. I am training for a marathon, which helps with the calorie burn. It is a little extreme, but 30 minutes a day and few days of weights will do the job as well. If you are short on time or don't have a gym membership, use work out DVDs like mom-baby work outs or Billy Blanks. I used them for the first six months and lost really fast. Sorry for all the wordiness!

In sum, I would say weight watchers is the closest thing to what I did. They focus on cutting calories and expending more. BReastfeeding worked like a charm too!

Good Luck!
Also, it sounds like your husband is a keeper. If I was in the area, I would gladly organize a ladies night with you!

I have and currently use Weight Watchers. I am very luck that we have a at work program where someone from WW comes to the office. This way I have support at work and do my best at home too. There is also a group from work that walks during our lunch break, so I walk at least 5 miles a day.

As long as you are eating a balanced/ measured meal AND exercise daily you WILL get rid of the extra weight. I thought at the beginning there is no way, but I have been doing WW for over a year and have lost over 60+pounds. I have two boys and I did gain ALOT of weight.

Hopes this helps you!

Keep nursing to lose the weight. Why stop now? Even if you haven't been nursing going back will definitely burn more calories than trying some diet. AND breastfeeding is so convenient. I have always lost all the weight by nursing. I have three children.

You are probably well on your way to losing your 5-10 pounds but just in case. Arbonne International has an incredible line of weight loss products. The company even has a seperate website just for that line. Arbonne's website is www.arbonne.com and the other site is www.gofigure8.com. People love the figure 8 site -- it offers a ton of great information.

If you are interested, I would be happy to talk with you more about it and show you how to shop on-line and get 35% off as well as other discounts.

I don't live near Kenosha but I bet there's an Arbonne team near you. If you are looking for an extra income stream and a great way to meet quality people and fun, you might consider Arbonne. Let me know, and I'll help you!

I think having the kids close together is great. Mine are 2, 4 and 6 and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's crazy at times but they play so well together and their interests are close enough that we can do the same activities on the weekends and they're all happy!

Good Luck! Drop me a note back if you are interested in anything Arbonne!
