My daughter had a puppy that died about a month ago. She is still sad and sometimes cries for her dog(rhino). I was wanting another dog for her. The spca is way to expensive for a puppy. I am willing to pay a rehoming fee. any breed but must be a puppy. Her dog was a pitbull who was so awesome. She could hand feed him play in his water while he ate and he would lick her and then sit in her lap when he was done. He died frm a dieses that we did not know he had even though we took him to the vet. Our home is very safe and we dont believe in harming animals. Do any of you have a puppy

What can I do next?

If your dog died of parvo it is a highly contagious disease and it is next to impossible to rid you house of the virus. If you get an other puppy and the virus is still in the house your new puppy can contract it and also get very sick. If you have any old toys or beds that your dog used including food dishes you need to get rid of them and bleach your entire house before getting a new dog if you dog had this disease. If this is what your dog had let me know and I can give you more info on how to keep future pets safe.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss- losing a pet is always hard to go through! Maybe we can help...

A black male Lab showed up in our front yard about a month ago. We searched for it's owner to no avail. We didn't have the heart to take him to the pound but already have a dog. We are trying to sell our house & the backyard of the house where we're planning on moving to is not big enough for two dogs. According to the vet, he is a little over a year old. "Max" is a sweetie & is very good with our 5 year old son who has Autism. He needs lots of attention & "playtime." Let me know if you're interested in giving him a new home.

There are a ton of animal shelters around that are probably going to be a lot cheaper than the SPCA, but the ones at the SPCA are taken really good care of. I know because I used to volunteer there. Also, you might try looking in the Dallas Morning News - sometimes there are puppies listed for sale in there.

Like the other response said you might want to look into the type of puppy. There are a lot of dogs that aren't good to have around children. I had a pit bull for about 2 years, and she was great up until that 2 year mark, when she turned on me and started attacking anyone and anything.

M.,

Try the animal shelter in Carrollton. They have a very low adoption fee- something like $25.00.

From what I have seen in the Pedi office I would stay away from Pit Bulls, Chows, Yorkies, and Mini Poodles. These seem to be the ones that have the BIGGEST history of biting.

OK y'all I know different dogs within a breed act very differently- I am speaking in general terms!
