I have a friend that I re-connected with through Facebook. My computer broke on me so I had to get it fixed, it took longer than I had wanted it to and so this friend got a free computer and fixed it up for me. She used to rebuild computers and then she sent it to me through the mail. She WOULD NOT take money for it. She said she would send it back, so in any case, I would like to get her a gift to let her know how much I appreciate her. She was so giving at a time where I was so depressed and going through a lot. She didn't know I was but when I received it, I called her and told her she made my day! Anyway, I have tried to find out her likes, but cannot without her knowing what I am doing. What would be a nice gift for me to give her. Any ideas!!!! =) Thank you! Ellen

All women like relaxing! I would get her a GC to a massage place or mani pedi. Something in that general area! What a great friend to have!

What a lovely friend!

Does she have any interests listed on her FB profile? You know favorite music, books, shows, FB pages? That might give you some ideas.

A gift card to a local restaurant, bookstore, boutique. I like Mary Kate's massage idea. What about a fruit basket, flowers, specialty candy, or a bottle of wine.

What a blessing to have such a friend!

I so love hearing about friends being so good to each other.
I would feel like I didn't know how to possibly repay her.
The fact she doesn't want you to makes it really tough.
It must have cost a lot to send it in the mail.
You can research places for pampering in her area.
I don't know, I always tend to get people something that I wish someone would give me and I've never disappointed anyone with that philosophy.
It's hard when you don't know what someone really wants. Just make it thoughtful.

You are really lucky to have someone care for you so much!

Look at her FB page to see the friends who post on her page the most (boyfriend, husband, best friend etc..), Since time has passed her current here and now friends may know her favorite things. Send them a private message stating your intent. Good luck and good for you for pursuing this. She will be so grateful even if she in being stubborn now!

I like sending an Edible Arrangement for special people. You can order it online and have it delivered to her door. You just need to know when she'll be home or at work. You can personalize a card to accompany the gift. Who wouldn't like some of those chocolate dipped strawberries??? Yum.

If your thinking about a gift certificate for a restaurant, just start a conversation about different kinds of food, mexican,Italian, chinese etc...

I would put together a little basket of goodies for pampering her. you can add things like bubble bath, shower gel, lotion, then add a cute coffee/tea mug, different teas, then either some coffees or get a Starbucks gift card...$5 would be plenty to add to the basket. You could even add a nice book or CD. Send a nice note and maybe even a stack of notecards and a nice pen. Glad you are feeling better!
