I am so excited I am going to my very first spa treatment at a bed & Breakfast in Hot springs Arkansas.I'm going with my best friend for a girls getaway. Then it's off to chicago to be a bridesmaid in my cousins wedding. I leave Wednesday and come home Monday. I'm excited and scared at the same time. My mother in law whom I love & Trust completely is coming to stay with the kiddos. I'm not worried about them being taken care of but I've never been away from them for so long before. How do I deal with the guilt of leaving them for 5 days?

Please relax and go enjoy a much deserved vacation. It doesn't happen very often...so be so grateful that you have wonderful family that you trust to help you with your kids. Many people don't! We would go to my grandparents every summer for a week while my parents would go do something fun. It made me closer to my Grandparents and it teaches some independence too! Relax, enjoy and kick it up! Your girlfriends will enjoy your company more too if you aren't worrying the whole time.

I agree with Tracie...they're probably happy to get rid of you, but they will be just as happy when you're back! It's good to have a break from your family every so often. There's no sin in taking a little personal R & R every decade or two, or once a year... It's 5 days out of 365! Enjoy the opportunity. Get them each a small special gift- & your hubby, too. And look forward to being pampered & refreshed when you get home!

Um...Can I come, too?!;) OH! WAIT I just saw it was you K.K.- will you take some Romney flyers to hand out while you're up there??? HA!

I know how you feel! I left my kids for more than one night for the first time last year. One weekend I went to Kansas City "to get away from it all" and two weeks later my husband and I went to Mexico for 3 days. Trust me, it's OKAY! We need breaks like that to keep our sanity. You will appreciate your kids more when you get back and your husband and kids will appreciate you more! Plus, the hugs and kisses when you get back are the best!! Enjoy yourself and remember your kids are having fun too since they are with Grandma...that's like a vacation for them too. Maybe you'll need to send your DH on a weekend when you get back, LOL.

Why feel guilty? They're going on a vacation too.... they get Grandma for 5 days!

After your first massage and margarita you'll remember how much you really deserve the break.
