I am currently feeding my 3 month old Infamil Gentlease and Im considering switching to Good Start.
I have read up on Good Start and everything tells me thats its better than Infamil.

Has anyone switched from Gentlease to Good Start and if so how is it working for you?

I get these coupons in the mail for 8-11 dollars off a jar of Good Start, and thats such a great deal....

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well I switched to Good Start and it is working out great. She sleeps longer at night and it seems to fill her up more than Infamil did. Her spitting up/throwing up has stopped and she is WAY less gassy.
Thanks to everyones advise and stories on what has worked for them. I will stick to Good Start now.

Eveytime I buy Good Smart from a grocvery store it prints out Infamil coupons, some are even buy 1 get 1 free, so if anyone is interested in them please write back. I can mail them to you and I have a few jars of Imfamil Lipil sample size to give away also....

I havent read all the responses yet but, you can go to each of the formula makers websites and sign up for coupons. Also, we used the generic brand of gentlease that we bought from target. It was only $14 a can and that was perfect for us. Good Luck!

Good Start is made by Nestle, who is still under investigation for marketing formula mix in 3rd world countries, which is a bad idea for a lot of reasons.

There is also a current FDA discrepancy warning letter out for Good Start, you can see it here: http://www.fda.gov/foi/warning_letters/g6152d.htm . I can't find anywhere that this has been resolved yet.
Just a couple of things to keep in mind. :)

I used Good Start with my daughter who is now 3 years old and VERY healthy. It is a good, complete formula that is easy for the baby to digest. We used several different formulas at first, but this one was the best. I used the powdered formula and would mix up the days batch in the blender and then put it into a storage container or the bottles. And the dollars off coupons really do help!

My son was on Enfamil for 3 months then we switched him to Similac then to Good Start, then Enfamil Soy, and then end result on Enfamil Lactofree Lipil. He was on that til he was 1. When he turned 1 he was on whole milk until he was 14 months old we swtiched him to 2%. Then when he was 18 months old we switched him to 1%. We realized he was lactose intolerant early on and then because the whole and 2% milk created too much mucus we switched him to 1% and he's been fine ever since.

My personal favorite is actually Similac Advanced. When my son was an infant and breastfeeding was unfortunately a flop we had tried what seemed to be every formula on the market. Our Dr. had recommended Similac to us and said that it seems to be the most gentle on their digestive systems, he was right. I know it isn't very costly and I haven't seen very many coupons out there for it but if your having issues it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. If your baby is doing fine on the formula he/she's on you could always try Good Start and if it upsets your baby's stomach then switch back to the one that works best for your little one. It's all about trial and error and what works best for one baby doesn't always work best for yours. Good Luck!

I used good start with my daugher. My friend had done all the research and it seemed as though it was better the the others. My daughter was very fussy and had to use soy formula, things seems to mellow out with the good start. The best part is its better formula for less money..

my first daughter who is now 3years used Good Start as trying may others. She had acid reflex and colic. Good Start did seem to be easier on her stomach more than any other. My 2nd daughter also had reflex and I went from breast milk to Good Start and did not try any others. I guess I had good luck the first time and my 3 year is healthy and smart ( I think she get's that from her mom not the formula Ha! ) If you like Infamil you may see if they have a website where you can sign up for coupons.

Both of my children used Good Start and we had no problems. With my second child, I originally started out using Enfamil and it did not work for her. She was spitting up and was not taking to it well, so we switched to Good Start and the problems resolved. As far as price comparisons, Enfamil and Good Start cost almost exactly the same. I was receiving equivalent coupons for both. In the end, I think either one is fine and you just need to make the decision which is best for you and your baby.

Talk to the pediatrician first to see if the new formula won't cause any allergic reactions in your baby. If your baby is perfectly healthy and you feel that it is the right choice, then try it out. Only you know what's best for your baby. Wish you all the best for you and your baby.

Does your baby have a bad reaction with Enfamil or is a better deal the reason you want to switch? I personally love Enfamil (we used the Enfamil Lipil ProSobee, the soy kind), but it is way too expensive. We use the Target soy brand now. Compare labels and its exactly the same, just $10 cheaper.

I've always heard that Enfamil is better because it has a closer ratio of whey-to-casein to breastmilk.

"Enfamil promotes a 60/40 whey-to-casein ratio similar to human milk. Actually, a 70/30 whey/casein ratio is more typical of human milk, and the whey content of some human milk can be as high as 80 percent." - from Dr. Sear's website on bottle-feeding.

Of course, let your baby be the guide. All formulas meet federal regulations, so do what works for the little one!

I primarily breastfeed but if my daughter needs formula if we're traveling or at grandparents, well, Goodstart, is all we use. She doesn't have any problems on it and she liked it better than Enfamil or the other guys.

I breast fed the first 4 months and then switched to parents choice which is the generic of the others. The doctor said that they were just as good as the rest if your child doesn't have any digestion problems. They even have it with the dha and ara that is so good for infants. I think as long as your child doesn't have problems with allergies and whatnot you could even go for the walmart generic.

I have used both and the only difference between then is the gentlease is broken down farther and it only a starter formula and i think that if you want to switch then do so. Just do it. I did it and both of my children gained the weight they needed when the were supposed to. You do what is best for you and your child and all will be well.
Peace be with you and your family
