Okay.. a few weeks ago I noticed a little bump on the inside of my daughters thigh.. It looks like a pimple but she won't let me touch it and it is still there.. Now tonight after her bath, it appears as if there is another bump on her butt.. The first one is still there. Any ideas or suggestions to find out what it is or should I just take her to the doctor. Thanks for your help.

What can I do next?

Hi K., If these are painfull and grow in size, my guess would be boils... My son used to get them all the time when he was around 4 or 5... They would get so large and painful that he couldn't even walk.. We took him to a derm because he had them so often, and we were told that his body just couldnt fight that bacteria.. He was put on an antibotic to clear them up.. Thank goodness he grew out of it.... He has scars from them, but hasn't had one in about 6 years now. YAY... Good Luck :)

it might be something called fluid warts. It is a viral condition that I have seen in the clinic from time to time.

But like with all things dont know until you see it. If it is that it is contagious and she may have it forever or it might go away after a few treatments we never know for sure.

Take her to the dr. My daughter had what I thought was a pimple, turns out it was a boil which contained MRSA. Better to be safe...Good luck.

I would keep a close eye on it. Does she go to daycare? Grandson had a few pimples that turned into boils. He had a staph infection. Very painful. You can put antibiotic cream on it, couldn't hurt.

You should take her to see a Dermatologist for an acurate diagnosis. Kids that age are also prone to getting Molluscum contagiosum, which is a very contagious virus of the skin. They first appear as you described, a pimple. They spread and can be difficult to get rid of. My eldest son had it.
Definitely talk to you Dr. though.

Best to have it looked at as it could be so many things. Some have already been mentioned and then there is also falliculitis (sp?), heat rash, boils, sensitivity to detergent or a fabric in the pants, etc.

Does it itch? Could be chicken pox, not even sure if it is the right time of the year for that. If she gets more or they itch I would have it looked at.

I think that you best bet is to go to the doctor! Especially if she is saying the hurt. I mean "they" could be nothing, but "they" could also be something that is worthy of the doctors visit. With kids its always better to error on the side of caution.

hmmm, not sure if anyone would be able to answer this without seeing it.
Is it like a clear bubble? or does it have more of a whiteish head? Itchy. or not?

Some times I get these "warts" that come and go... Mainly on my hands... Just one or two at a time on my palm. Small and like a clear bubble...,They go away on their own.
could be chicken pox... some people only get one or two bumps, but they itch, crust, and are usually redish.
Could be a clogged hair folicle, sweat pore, or the beginning of "chicken skin"... (Rough feeling of bumps on the skin. Many many bumps. Skin feels thick. Usually on the arms though so I doubt its that)
I am sensetive to nickel... I get a sorta raised itcy rash (clear fluid filled bumps) right under the spot the nickel was...I have had to stop wearing my favorite belt (nickel in the buckle) an awesome pair of jeans (nickel in the button) and have to wear sensetive ear rings. Does she have a pair of pants that the decals line up with the bumps? But then again... are they itchy?

More than likely its nothing... Just one of those roveing "what is this" bumps... But if you are worried about it the best thing to do is ask someone who can see it, and knows a little about what goes on with the body. :-)

You will probibly get some "whats she eat" or "what skin products" questions. And I would say that if it were something she eats or gets rubbed all over her, it would be all over and not localized to 2 bumps in 2 different places...

Good luck!!
