JFF: What's the Best Store Policy or Currently Running Offer You Know About?

And... you are the reason why stores stop offering perks like that.

Exchanging something you just bought that broke without a receipt is way different than exchanging something that is used, outdated, old, and unsellable. It's blatantly dishonest & taking advantage of a generous policy. Once the stores realize they are losing money because of shady people, the "perk" will be over.

I could not live with myself doing something like that, nor would I want to. Apparently you can. Good for you.

And we wonder why prices keep on going up. Guess they have to make up the difference somehow.

ETA - I'm sorry, but LOL @ the "bully" reference. Disagreement of opinion is not being negative, or a bully. This is a site full of different opinions, which is what makes it fun.

Hmmm...with what you described you did....that policy won't last long with people taking advantage of it.

I should walk in with my hair straightner it has a short in it ( months ago) bought it from Bed Bath & Beyond maybe they will replace it,not as old as your crock pot my goodness I would be embarrased to have asked for a replacement after 8 yrs of use

It's not too good to be true - it's wrong! You can't honestly think the stores having a hassle-free return policy are for the type of returning / exchanging that your describing above!

I can't beat that - but did you know that Bed Bath & Beyond & Buy Buy Baby are owned by the same company? So if you have a Bed bath and Beyond coupon, you can use it at Buy Buy Baby (and vice versa)? Better yet - Toys R Us accepts competitor coupons - so you can use Buy Buy Baby and Bed Bath & Beyond coupons there? (they also take each others gift cards...)
(Just today I went in and had 3 coupons for $5 off a $15 purchase - so I made 3 different purchases and saved $15 off my total)....

Also, Toys R Us 7 Babies R Us price matches...you have to bring in the paper ad and it has to be current.
(I went in there today with an ad for Meijer that had Rock Star Mickey for $25 and I purchased him for $35 a month ago, so they did a price adjustment - depending who you get, they may do a return and re-purchase at the sale price, either way you're still getting money back - you do need to have your receipt or the credit card/rewards card you purchased it on to do a price adjustment though).

I am also suprised by the negative responses. (Just sharing of information ladies, not a call for your judgment.)

These stores make TONS of money in profit! Their mark up on items is so high that they can afford to offer this kind of policy without a dent in their pocket... they will still make their money on you, when you buy another overpriced crock pot, or other items that you pick up while shopping there! They take our hard earned money every day and thats ok, so you taking advantage of their own policy is a good thing, just means you're a smart consumer! I keep saying to everybody on here all the time, dont pay attention to the negative people on here, they just come on here to buly others because they dont have anything better to do, or just want to feel better about themselves!
It's a shame because this site is supposed to be a site for moms to help other moms, and it's come to a point where people are scared to post questions, because of those people. They just need to get a life!

I won't even try to put my head around what you've detailed here. Sounds like what people used to say about Nordstroms.

I like Costco. I'm bad at losing receipts, but they know if I bought something there, and if it breaks, they accept it back. We bought a Keurig coffee maker that stopped working, and they replaced it without a receipt and without complaint.

Hey I would do the same! Whatever, it's your hard earned money and if something breaks down before having it for a year than I would do the same! As for the baking sheets, I think that if I were to use them acouple of time's and my baked goods were burning or the cookie sheets had rusted then yes I would return them too! Believe me! I have soo many cookie sheets that don't bake my cookie's right!
I know that Walmart is doing the "price match" which is awesome! I have noticed that Target is much more cheaper then Walmart which shock's me! But there was that "Fur-real" dog that my youngest wants and Toy's R Us sold out of them and so I went to Walmart and found it for $50 and got it for $30! So I like that they are offering that now especially with it being the Holidays!

I *love* Bed Bath and Beyond! Last year I found out that they honor their expired coupons and that you can use more than one coupon at a time. The savings really add up and like you, I tend to shop there a lot since I know that I'm getting a great deal. We hosted Christmas dinner for the first time (20 family members) last year and I was able to buy placemats, plates/bowls, chargers, cloth napkins, etc for a lot less than I was expecting and all because of their wonderful policy of accepting expired coupons and letting me use basically a coupon for every single item I purchased.

As far as other deals/store policies go, my sister loves to shop at Kohl's because of all the Kohl's cash she receives back with her purchases. I wish there was a Kohl's near me so I could shop there too, but she gets so much back in Kohl's cash that she was able to get most of her Xmas shopping done using it and not having to pay out of pocket for anything.
