I am 2 months pregnant with my 3rd child. Since the birth of my 2nd child, I have had slight problems with cysts. Nothing that required surgery but they have been there for 4 years and from time to time caused different problems and uncomfort. I went to my sonogram today and they showed me the cyst. I am really nervous now, Is there anyone else out there that went through a pregnancy, after they were diagnosed with cysts. Should I be concerned ? By the time I left there, I was on the verge of a panic attack. I just dont want to spend the next 7 months worrying about what could happen. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for all of the responses. I did have the surgery. Almost 3 weeks ago. When the dr went in there, her intention was to remove the cyst and the ovary. Well she didnt do either. Turns out that the cyst is attached to my pelvic bone and is surrounded by blood vessels and arteries. To try to remove them would have been a more intensive surgery and would be more jepordizing to the baby, she also was worried about cancer, well from looking at she could tell it was not cancerous. She drained the cyst and sent it to lab to be tested just the same, the results came back neg. The recovery has been painful, because I had to have an incision, similar to that of a C-section. But I was home in 24 hours, which was nicer to be able to be in my own home to rest. My bf was a doll and took very good care of me. And my family helped alot too because I was on bedrest for 7 days, that was not that exciting !! Im now 5 months, so only 4 months left to go with this preg. Hopefully despite this surgery, I will still be able to have a normal delivery. Thanks again for all of the helpful information you all shared with me.

I have four children and I actually have fibroid tumors(sounds scary but they are benign) with my third pregnancy they grew very large and had to be watched closely with ultrasounds to see if they were endangering my pregnany at all but they never did they caused me some discomfort but never affected my baby, she is three now and I also have a one year old but I did not have as many problems with them growing with him.

C.,

I am 39 weeks now and found out that I had a 5cm cyst on my right ovary and smaller cysts on my left ovary 4 years ago. If you are already pregnant, you've gotten through most of the battle. They told me I would have troubles getting pregnant. If these cycts are like mine were.. they will rupture in time and that may cause discomfort but no harm to the baby. After you have the baby they may suggest having laproscopy done...it's not really worth it, these cysts are known to just keep coming back and then you have to do the surgery again and again. To me it was not worth it. However, that is a personal decision. I hope this helps... if you have any other questions, email me at ____@____.com Luck with everything, i'm sure it will go well.

Hey C. I just wanted to reassure you that cysts really arent a problem unless they are compromising your ovaries or twisting them.. Could you tell how big they were on the sonogram,You shouldn't have any problem while pregnant and they can give you birth control to help shrink them or remove them after you have the baby which im sure you already know, what have you discussed with your dr so far.. I have never had them while pregnant but have struggled with them for almost 2 years now off and on I have 2 on each ovary that have caused me alot of pain and pressure, and tho I have had a hysterectony last april I have just learned I have a spot of Endometriosis right under my bladder again so I understand what your going through im not sure how I will handle this but please try to stay relxed its not good for the baby if you have a pnic attack which im sure you know..(sorry im a mom so you know it doesnt stop with your kids)..lol I was told that most cysts which you said you had had just come and gone and thats really all they do and shouldn't hurt the baby but if you want to keep in touch with me my emaild addy is ____@____.com and im also on messenger under that id as well so feel free to contact me I would love to continue this sometime. My name is C. Im 31 I have 2 girls Bayli Christian-6 1/2 and Jaedynn Elizabeth - 4 1/2 and Im happily married to Greg for 7 years.

Hi, my name is L. and I am mommy to a beautiful 14-month-old boy named Jackson. He is my first child, and when I was about 20 weeks pregnant they noticed cysts and fibroids. They caused a lot of discomfort, and at one point they thought they would have to be removed because they were growing and blocking the birth canal, but everything worked itself out. I was labeled 'high risk' due to the cysts, got a sonogram monthly to monitor the growth and position of the fibroids and cysts, and eventually they both just stopped growing. I was even able to have a vaginal delivery, which the doctor thought was out of the question at first. Then after I delivered Jack the doctor thought she would have to go in and remove them, but when I had my sonogram about 8 weeks after birth, she found that they had shrunk, and they cause me no pain. My only worry was what happens when I have my next child, but I was told not to worry, that they may not even bother me next time, and if they do, we'll deal with it then. In summing up, the worst part about the cysts was the discomfort and I always measured big all throughout my pregnancy. Keep your
head up :-)

Where are the cysts? Ovarian cysts? My mom has had ovarian cysts for years and they haven't really bothered her. Occasionally one will rupture and it will hurt a little bit, but it shouldn't affect your pregnancy at all.

Yes I had a cyst with my second pregnancy. I had it from my first u/s 15 weeks until I had her. I had a c-section so they removed it then. It caused no problems with my pregnancy other than discomfort to me.

Hi C.!

I had uterine and ovarian fibroids and cysts removed approx. 5 years ago. There were 3, the larger of which was the size of a grapefruit. The Dr's wern't sure if I'd have a successful pregnancy at all, but I had zero issues during my pregnancy and my son was born without incident via c-sec. When they were taking him, though, they found 5 more that went undetected during my pregnancy. They removed one, but they couldn't remove more without risking too much blood. So, eventually, I'll have to have those removed too. My point is that you can have a successful pregnancy despite the cysts, as long as you keep an eye on them and have a team around you that are knowledgable about them.

I am not sure what kind of cyst you have but I have had a dermoid cyst for about five years. About 2 months after my first child I was in a lot of pain at leaste 4-5 time a weeks. It took the doctor a while o figure out what it was but as soon as they did I has my left overy removed. About 6-8 months later I started having a lot of cramping on my right side and soon figured out I had a cyst on my left overy. The doctors thought they were going to have to remove my overy so I quickly became pregnant so I could have another child before they had to remove it. That pregnancy was great when it came to the cyst. Well they have actually never had to take out my other overy because the pain id not as often as with the other cyst. I was pregnant with my thrid child pretty quickly after my second ( about 8 months ) that pregnancy was a little different that the second. I was in a lot of pain from about 5 months on and therer was a lot of pain after the birth but with in a couple months the pain went away for the most part. I couldnt wear pants that were tight on that area and there was pain sometime but I was deffinatly not like the first cyst. Now I am about 18 weeks pregnant with my fourth child and the painf has started but it is not bad. I am not sure if I have really helped much but atleaste you have heard my story and know that this could go any way. I can tell you that when you start to get a bigger tummy to put a pillow under it when you sleep on your side it has helped my a lot and stay away from the tight clothing on your stomach.
I hope I was of some help.
A.
