Looking for a Dentist in Franklin

I am looking to switch dentists for my 4 year old son, who continues to suck his thumb (both thumbs actually) with a vengeance. Do people take their kids to pediatric dentists? Or do you take the whole family to one general dentist? Who would you recommend in the Franklin area?

What can I do next?

Hello C.,

I also take my children to Dr. Buzz in Franklin. He and his staff are absolutely wonderful! They have lots of kids stuff in the office to entertain the little ones (video games and lots of toys).

I would recommend Dr. Buzz to anyone!

Hope this helps!

If you are in Franklin, TN I would suggest Brentwood Dental Specialists. They are great. I take my 3 children there and they love it and you get to stay with them as well. Their number is ###-###-#### located at 1607 Westgate Cir

I love Dr. Nally. My kids love him. He is great with children and adults. He started looking in my children's mouths and letting them try swishing the water around in their mouths when they were about a year old. By the time it was time for them to start having their teeth looked at they were comfortable with the dentist. My three year old went for his first "real dentist appointment" and he was not afraid at all.

Dr. Nally's appointments ALWAYS run on time. He is a very good dentist. He also does mission work and provides free dental care in impoverished countries. His office is right off of I-65 on the south side of Nashville, so he is not far from Franklin. I think it is worth the drive for a great dentist.

I definitely recommend you go to a Pedodontist (a specialist in children's dentistry). For yourselves, the Vanderbilt TMJ clinic recommended Dr. Nina Foley to me and she's the most up-to-the-minute dentist I've ever gone to! I've moved out of Franklin and now live much closer to Vanderbilt, and I still commute every three or four months back to Franklin to see her!

I did take my children to a pediatric dentist for a couple years and have switched to a family dentist because I wasn't happy with the dentist. One positive experience from the one I went to though - she had my thumb sucking son put a bar across the roof of his mouth. This stopped his thumb sucking within a month - just in time for kindergarten. Good luck - I don't have a recommendation because I don't live in that area - but looks like you've gotten some suggestions.
