I second Connie!

Mothers and More is the place to be! We have such a diverse group of great women, with one common goal.... to raise our families to be the best they can be! Our current leaders are wonderful at making sure there is something for everyone. We have playgroups four days a week, moms day out, moms night out, book club, general meetings, the list goes on and on. Come to as much or as little as you would like! www.mothersandmore.org (Greater Lewisville chapter 100)

Welcome to Texas!

I am a member of Mothers and More (Gretaer Lewisville). Check out our website: www.mothersnmore.com. Mothers and More is a national organization with chapters all over the country. I really enjoy the group, because we have something to offer all moms, both working, stay at home, and those somewhere in between!

Also, we offer a weekend playgroup (every other Saturday), as well as several family activities throughout the year, not to mention the moms only activities which are a blast.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to TX! There are bunches of moms groups, it just takes a little research to find the right one for your schedule. I'm not a member of this one (www.greaterlewisvillemothersandmore.org) b'c it was too far for me to drive, but it looks like a great one to join. And www.meetup.com has alot of moms groups listed.

Also, I started a new baby playgroup in March for infants thru 18mths, and currently we meet on Friday mornings 2x/month; here's our webpage if you're interested: http://groups.google.com/group/roanokemommyandme

Check out Prestonwood.org/children. See the listing on the left side of page. "Nursery" covers infants to age 2. They have volunteer opportunities which is a great way to meet other moms. And, MOPS is another great way to meet Moms. http://www.mops.org/ Good luck!

I go to MOPS at Crossroads Bible Church on 407 in Double Oak. It is a wonderful program & the next meeting is April 16 or 23 and they go from 9-11:30 and include brunch. To let them know you are coming to visit (and to reserve childcare), email Ann Kraft at ____@____.com to register. Here is the link to the mops program http://www.crossroadsbible.org/ministries/Women/women_mop...

It costs $20/year & there is a childcare donation basket that is passed each meeting but you are in no way required to pay for that. Also, the $20 can be waived if you request a scholarship.

My 3 year old loves going! He has a great time-it's like being in Sunday school or MDO for them-they have a lesson, playtime, snacks & special events periodically. My 10 month old sometimes stays with me or they'll page me if they need me to nurse her or if she is crying. You are always welcome to keep you kids with you but they have a wonderful childcare setup. And the best part is you get some adult time!

You can also check out http://www.mops.org/ for a more convenient location. It's just down 407 from the Super Target & shops at Highlannv Village at Chin Chapel and 407.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

There is a playgroup located in Lewisville, Flower Mound that was formed through mothers from Lewisville, Denton and Flower Mound that were meeting at La Leche League in Lewisville. The playgroup is not part of La Leche. This group started when my first son was 3 months old and he is 5 years old now. There is a meeting tomorrow morning at 10:00AM. Below is the info for the meeting. I do not have any information on the evening group but you can check the La Leche website.

Hi A.,
I'm interested in a play group as well. I have a daughter, Camdyn, who is almost 5 months old. I also work full time, but will be out for the summer in 8 weeks, so my schedule will be pretty flexible then!
I live in North Richland Hills, but I'm in Lewisville and Flower Mound a lot.
I know of another play group that meets the first Thursday of each month, but I can't join that until I'm out for the summer!
My email is ____@____.com if you'd like to plan something!

Hi A.,
you have some great advice for some really good groups, mops groups are fun. I too am from Vegas and my husband is a Texan so we moved here about 10 years ago. We also have a moms group in Grapevine called the nestingmoms that meet on the 1st Thursday of every month. You are absolutely welcome to join us. Beside the monthly meeting there is a blog, outings to join for lunches and playdates and stuff. It is just a lot of fun. I actually host it and 2 friends do all of the great planning.

http://moms.meetup.com/2457/ is a group I belong to and is a lot of fun and they do a ton of activities. All the babies were born in 2007 and there are variety of moms in the group (working and nonworking) They are great support and although I haven't made it to a lot of activities, the ones I have attended have been great for my 8 month old son! No cost is involved and you set your own participation level. Good luck!
