Hello. I am interested in finding or starting a play group for my 10 mo old daughter in Lewisville. I'd love to be a part of a group of about 6-8 moms with kids the same age that could meet every other week or so. We could meet at public places or at our homes. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks for any advice!

What can I do next?

Hi! My daughter, Ashlee and I would love to be a part of your play group. I live back with my folks so my place would not be a good meet up spot! Perhaps a local park would work! Ashlee will be 15 months on the 24th and I am a single 37 yr old. I am enjoying the experience of being a mom and would love the chance to meet with others out there that are enjoying their new lives!

Look at www.meetup.com

If there's not already the type of group you are looking for on that website, you can start your own meetup.

My kids are a bit older now (my youngest turns 9 today), but when they were younger we were in a couple of playgroups which we discovered through local moms groups (MOMS Club, etc.). You can find a list of local groups here: http://familyeguide.com/Support-Groups.html. Unfortunately, many of these groups break for summer.

We also started a women's club / playgroup in our neighborhood by simply passing out flyers from door to door. We don't have an HOA, so we passed them out ourselves (I got a neighbor to help). We have almost 500 homes, and had over 40 women at our first meeting (you can have it at Lewisville Library, maybe town hall has a room, etc.). We formed a couple of playgroups, dividing kids by age. The women I met through our playgroup have become very good friends over the years, and many of the children are still friends as well.

Good luck!
