I dont know of any good doctors in that area but I can tell you one that I had a very bad experiance with. It was at the john hougan and asociates. My doctor didn't listen to me when I said that I was having problems. Because of that I gave birth to my daughter at thirty weeks because of early labor, that I later found out that I had been in for over two weeks.I recomend not going there.

Hi,
I have 2 daughters Dr Beard was my dr for my second and any future children i have. He works outr of Fairview Oxboro clinic on 98 and lyndale he is an amazing dr. I ended up having a ce-section with my second, any questions or concerns i had he answered right away. I could get ahold of him or one of his nurses any time of day or night which was nice. I went into labor with my second at 2am and he was the one to call me back telling me to get my butt to the hospital. ###-###-#### is the number to the oxboro clinic. Mothers that i've meet through that clinic that had Dr Beard as there dr. sware by him.

Associate's in Womens Health is wonderful. I see Dr. Jill Rusterholz. I just had my first baby in September and she was fantastic! She has also made the Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine Top Doctors for the past few years.

Dr. Andrea Flom (in John Haugen Associates) is across from Southdale and also downtown. She was named one of the top doctors in Minnesota a few years ago. She also does high risk -so is very on top of things. You can talk to her about anything and she will listen and take any concerns you have seriously - not blow you off like some doctors. Good luck!

You would do best to establish care with the Doctor of your choice before becoming pregnant. Donna Block, MD is in the Southdale area too and she is very nice. Start taking your vitamins with folic acid now. You want one that has 400 mcg of folic acid. March of Dimes recommends that women of childbearing age take this 3 months or so before conception to help avoid birth defects.

Hi M. -

OB-GYN Specialists in Edina are awesome. I've been impressed with all the Dr.'s I've seen there (and I've been going to them for over 10 years). Dr. Suzin Cho is my favorite - not only does she do a good physical exam, she also takes the time to find out what is going on in your life and seems to take a real interest. They are great about listening to your need and wants during pregnancy and delivery (I've have a 2 and a 3 year old).

I heard great things about Dr. Beard (another moms recommendation). I didnt go to him because I could never get in with him. I went to Southdale OBGYN with rotating doctors so I cannot really recommend anyone.

Be sure to see a Dr. prior to getting pregnant. They may want you to start on the prenatal pills ahead of time. Sorry I don't have a referral for you.

I have to agree that Dr. Nadau from Associates in Women's Health is great, if you want a female, Doctor Petit from that same clinic is great too. There number is 952-806-001.

Highly recommend OGI; Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility with offices in Edina at Southdale, Plymouth at West Health and North Memorial's Oakdale building. I believe all of the four women doctors are partners at the firm so they have a strong investment in the practice. Their number is ###-###-#### in Edina. Their website is www.obgynmn.com

My primary doctor is Amy Brown but I have seen all four woman; Dr. Lisa Baker, Dr. Stephanie Rice and Dr. Jennifer Arnhold. All are super women. Dr. Brown is having her third child very soon so may not be available right now for new appointments. Very resourceful, listened to my needs, supported my husband's and my decisions and preferences, etc.

My father-in-law was one of the founding partners and has since retired. Dr. J. would tell you the woman he and the remaining partners hired over the years are some of the best in the business. He even will say that he feels the woman doctors at his clinic do a better job today with their clients than the men did when they first opened it years and years ago.
I am a mommy to a 22 month old, have a blood clotting condition, and I can attest to their skills and compassion. I know it is not my status as the daughter-in-law of a past partner that gets me the special treatment because several friends now go there as does someone from my office and they all get the same treatment.

Good luck.

Hi M.-
My recommendation is OB/Gyn Specialists. Dr Stephen Larson or Dr Amy Song. They have an office in The Southdale Medical Center (across the street from Southdale Hospital). I have seen those 2 Dr.'s with all 3 of my pregnancies and still go to them for my yearly exams. Dr Larson was ranked #1 OB/Gyn in the country a few years back.

Good Luck-
B. L
