I'm looking for high quality, reasonably priced nursery furniture (basically a crib and dresser) and a nice chair since I'll be nursing. Please let me know if you have any recommendations. We didn't like anything at Babies R Us. THANK YOU!!!!

What can I do next?

I actually was just saying to my husband how I want to sell our crib since neither of our children ended up using it. We ended up keeping them with us and cosleeping so we never used it. We got it from a friend and she only ised it for one kid so its in excellent shape. Also, its high quality from what I can see. If you're interested you can email me. I am willing to work with you on a fair price...

If you want good quality but reasonably priced, you'll need to find high end furniture on sale. Good luck!

I would look on Craig's list. We got our crib and dresser (both pretty nice) for $60 from someone in the South Loop (and that price was for both together). The crib is even a convertible model, so I felt like I got a really good deal. Good luck!

You can also purchase nursery furniture at some Burlington Coat Factory department stores. They have reasonably priced items depending on what your looking for. Just check it out!

Since you're online you probably are already familiar with Craigslist.com, but if not, its definitely a great place to check out for children's items. I've seen a ton of Dutailier gliders on there that are barely used, for a fraction of the retail cost.

We had to buy another crib for our second child b/c the first one fell apart, and we were just about to buy a new one at IKEA when we saw the same exact crib on craigslist for half the price. Saved us a lot of money, and it was in like new condition.

I've also seen a lot of quality cribs/dressers in the children's section, i.e. Bellini and Pali.

I really recommend IKEA. It is worth the hassle of assembling yourself. We bought a convertible crib, two dressers (one low for a changing table, and one high) and a toddler table and two chairs. All this for the price of one high end crib at BabiesRUs. A friend of mine also has the same crib and it still looks new after four kids. They really hold up well. Our glider came from Burlington. Get the matching ottoman/foot stool. You end up racking up much more miles out of the chair just cuz it's more comfy.
