Mother Son Dance

I am going to a monther son dance with my 9 year old. I remember going to a Daddy Daughter dance with my dad around that age and I know he got me a corsage. I know from friends that Daddies do this still for the Daddy daughter dances, but I don't know about anything for a Mother Son dance.

Do I get a boutonniere for him? I don't want to NOT get him one if other boys will have them, but I also don't want to get one if the other boys won't!

It is at a golf course/country club place. I have never been there. It was advertised as a "Formal" theme and it wsa suggested that the boys could wear a jacket and tie and their "dates" should wear a dress or business attire. The tickets were only $10.00 each, though, so it is not an event that I had to pay a ton of money for, if that makes a difference.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I don't think I am going to. He is going to wear a vest and tie, but no jacket, so I think it is best not to.

Barbra - YES - it is the one at Devil's Ridge. :) Glad to know that you have gone for 3 years. Must mean we will have a good time!

Get a boutonniere for him since it was supposed to be formal, but don't let him wear it until you arrive, and you see the others attire and can slip it on before he goes in. Better to have and not use. If not go with just the shirt and tie. You can't go wrong there.

If you are attending the one at Devils Ridge, I have gone to that one for the last 3 years and will be attending on Saturday as well. As far as the boutonnière, I have seen some boys have them but not many.
