Ok so it's actually my fault. So my son (12 months) is so backed up that he need a prescription laxative and he started it last night. So it was after his bath and I put him down still wrapped in the towel. I don't remember why I did, but I did. So he then starts playing with one of his toys and then farts. Well it wasn't just air. So I got him cleaned up and then cleaned up the poop, but there is still a brown spot. My carpet is an off white color (trust me I did NOT pick it) and so it's very obvious.
Right now I have a paste of Rockin Green Detergent, Oxy Clean, and a bit of baking soda on it soaking for a while. If this doesn't work, what do you t hink I should try?? HELP!!

I have had pet stains that won't come out! I tried all the cleaners at the stores and nothing helped. As a last resort I used Spray and Wash. I know its for clothing, but it worked WONDERS on my carpet!! It also took out the color that was left from nail polish. I used a whole bottle of remover to get most, but the spray and wash took care of the rest! It did not stain my carpet or remove the color!! Good luck!

Woolite carpet cleaner has done wonders for me for all kinds of unfortunate stains, including poop, in the past. Good luck!

Oh, I've experienced this joy as well! Twice! We used Resolve on it initially and then rented a steam cleaner and cleaned the carpet. Once he did it on off-white, so the steam cleaning was necessary and the other time it was light brown carpet, but you could still tell, and I just couldn't deal with the possible germ factor I couldn't see.

I swear by Natures Miracle. It's found at petsmart. Vomit, pee, you name it, it takes the smell and color out without damage.

My parents own a floor covering company and believe it or not they get this question all the time... my dad always suggests putting some mild dish liquid dish soap into a bowl and adding warm water so that it creates a lot of "suds". Then using a cloth and ONLY the SUDS, scrub the marks in gentle, alternating circles. You may have to repeat this several times before it works!

Resolve works wonders. I don't like it or the smell, but it cleans well.

Bac Out by Bio-Kleen is natural and eats away the germs.

The Oxy clean should do the trick. Just keep soaking and scrubbing. Good luck!

Megan,

I recommend you go to the pet store and get some Nature's Miracle. It is a clear liquid (no odor) that is used to remove pet stains, but I would think it would do the same on human stains, too! It contains enzymes that 'eat' the feces or urine when you pour it on the spot. It takes a little while to work and may take more than one application depending on how deep into the carpet it got. I place a small towel over the area to keep it from evaporating. I have used it on pet stains many times and it works!

Good luck!

If that does not work the Rug Dr spray use the brand for PET stains ... same stuff in pet poop as kid poop... i love it b/c it is spray on the area place damp towel over it for 24 hrs pick up and GONE! Poof! Magic! YEAHHHHH then esp if you have pets take a vinegar/bakingsoda water mixture and go over the area so they do not "mark it" too!

Try spraying vinegar on it with a spray bottle. Just spray a fine mist and let it sit. See if it disappears. This worked on brown puke and spaghetti puke on my carpet. Vinegar has some bleaching power, like clorox, but isn't as harsh.
