Need Baby Gift to Order/send Online for Coworker

My husband's co-worker (my DH is in sales so this other guy is in California) just became a first-time daddy and we want to send a gift. I don't know them, nor what they have or don't have. What would be easy to order and send and be useful/needed, too?

What can I do next?

I don't know the brand, but one of my favorite gifts was a catalogue that was pre-paid like a gift card. I got to pick anything out of the catalogue that I wanted and it was shipped to me. The whole thing was basic baby supplies that most people wouldn't think of giving (like stepping stools and bath tub caddies).

My sister-in-law has ordered several gifts from this website. They personalize gifts and mail them all gift wrapped. The gifts are great.

My DH and I recently put together a "new baby survival kit" for his friend's new arrival. In it we included our favorite products such as Diaper Rash Ointment, baby wash, lotions, and Infant Tylenol among other things :) We included high end products and created a nice gift basket presentation. We also included a nice box of Godiva for mom because any new mom deserves chocolate!!!!

A gift card isn't very thoughtful but so useful. I loved getting gift cards so I could choose exactly what I wanted for my child. Also you could buy a nice engraved (with name of baby and date of birth if you know it) glass penny bank with gold coins in it. One of my husbands co-workers did that for our first child. Just an idea.

Since your husband works with the guy, you could get a "daddy tool belt" http://www.ohbabyshower.com/belt.html
Here is a site that is in my favorites: http://www.mybambino.com/
That would be cute.
Good luck

My cousin sent me a Pottery Barn Baby Hooded towel with my sons name embroidered on it and I have to say it is one of my favorite gifts. They have different animals, they are soft and really cute.

I sent a gift online to someone out of town with Proflowers.com. They have some really cute baskets that have flowers for the mommy and blanket and toys for the baby. They were really cute and they loved it!

Either send a nice plant and gift card or go to Walmart and put a gift bag together and mail it to them.

Hi T.. Sorry to sound like I'm just promoting my business, but I have a small embroidery company and I make hooded towels for infants and toddlers. I will embroider a design and the babies name on the hood of the towel. You can check out my website at www.tinytottowels.com
The towels are $30 and shipping is $5. I have lots of other designs than the ones that are on the website, so if you had something specific that you want, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

It all depends for me.....I go to a place in Plano called Cat and the Fiddle located in the Lakeside Shopping Center in Plano for speciality gifts such as soft blankets, toys, etc.

Another thought that we also give often is savings bonds or coins sets. You can get a proof set for the baby's birth year and that is nice as well. We collect coins so that is something we certainly like.

I think a gift card will be the perfect fit. Find out about some quality stores in California and order a gift card; also include a sincere message.

I've had alot of compliments on the personalized burp clothes I sent as gifts from http://www.burpiebabies.com
The site offers other items but I haven't tried them.
Also sending a gift card to a general restaurant like Chili's, Olive Garden, etc in your friend's area in a card is also very useful. Parents are exhausted from taking care of a new infant and having quick good food is A. awesome pick me up.
Good Luck finding a gift.

I realize this may be a little late, but I crochet baby blankets and personalize them. I will ship anywhere in the USA. I need approximately 7-10 days to complete a blanket, so if you haven't found anything yet, check out my work at http://www.kustomkrochet.ecrater.com. I accept custom orders, and have very reasonable prices.
