Some suggestions, applesauce, mini pancakes (you can buy boxes of them and you just microwave them for like 20 seconds), eggs, sausage (cut up small) my son likes PB&J toast (don't know if you've introduced peanut butter yet, if not, just jelly), dry cereal (or with soy milk if allowed), nutri-grain bars,

I hope something here is new :-)

My daughter had an alergy to milk, and of course anything with milk in it. She no longer has the alergy, she is 11 now, but we tried soy milk and she wouldn't use it. She said she didn't like it. There are drops out there that you can put in regular milk that will get rid of the stuff thats in the milk that they have an alergy to (sorry, I can't remember what it's called). This worked wonders for my daughter apperently it didn't change the taste of the milk that much so she would finally drink milk. I also found some chewable tablets by the same company that she could take right before eating any dairy products (such as ice cream and yogurt) that helped too. My doctor is the one who put me onto the drops and the chewables and said that they were fine to use on her at that age (she was 12 months old then). Good luck!

S.,

I had great luck with fruit-flavored oatmeal and plain oatmeal with dried fruit (like raisins, dates, and dried cranberries, called Craisins). You can make the instant Quaker oatmeal with water instead of milk and it tastes great. I usually get the reduced sugar variety.

You might also try scrambled eggs and whole wheat toast with low-sugar fruit spread. There are also some wonderful breakfast items in your frozen food section that might be a nice treat on weekends. Some ideas include breakfast sandwiches on English muffins and sausages on a stick (like corndogs) dipped in pancake batter. The come fully cooked and all you have to do is warm them up. Some of these items can be a little expensive, so we save them for weekends and/or special occassions. It really helps combat the boredom of breakfast.

Hope this helps!

Muffins are a good choice. I used to spend a few hours on Saturday baking for the coming week. There are simple muffin mixes in the baking aisle and you can always add more fruit. My kids also love pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. My youngest daughter is an oatmeal fan and we went thru a cream of wheat phase too. As a treat(usually when Mom is tired) we break out the bagels.

My daughter, who is soooo picky, loves Nutrigrain bars. You could also try french toast sticks and/or flavored Cream of Wheat. That is my son's favorite. Hope this helps.

dry cereal is a favorite of my kids even now and you can make a great sanck mix by adding dry fruit or rasins to like cheerios or any other cereal that you like also i knwo you said she is tired of waffles but my kids love waffles with peanut butter on them, it's a less messy alternative to syrup and at snack time they are known to love banansa with sprinkles, just some fun idead to spice up the same old things i guess but i hope it helps good luck.

My son loves the Gerber Breakfast Bars. They are very similar to NutriGrain bars. You find them with the other baby foods. Good luck!

I give my daughter different flavors of oatmeal that comes in individual packets. It can be made in the microwave with water, and you can also add cinnamon or fruit to it if you want. We use the "real" oatmeal, not the cream of wheat because of the texture and nutritional value. I'm not a big fan of oatmeal myself, but my daughter and husband love it. I also give her a banana, raisins, or any kind of healthy dry cereal for breakfast. I've used cheerios, multigrain cheerios, frosted shredded mini-wheats broken in half, Go Lean (believe it or not she likes it!), Special K (loves it), and corn flakes. I just give them to her dry, and give her milk in her sippy cup. You could also try the Graduates Lil Flakes Cereal and put that in milk as she is able to take it. Another thing you could try as she is able to take more dairy is yogurt. My daughter doesn't have a milk sensitivity, but these are all things that she eats and likes. Hopefully this will help.

I didn't read everyone else's responses but my daughter LOVES oatmeal. I buy those instant packs. You can make them with water. She loves that she can spoon feed herself :) HOw about eggs? Mine gets them like once a week (pediatricians said 1-2 week max)Or the cereal bars are good. Good luck :)

When our daughter was about that age, she had Gerber Graduates Little Flakes cereal mixed with applesauce for breakfast virtually every day. She loved it, and it contained no dairy.

Good luck!

Who said you need to eat only breakfast foods in the morning. My son would often eat leftovers from the night before, canned soup or a sandwich in the morning. Even more nutritional than cereal. He is now 14 and it's not uncommon for him to get up in the morning and make a cheeseburger on the George Forman Grill.

We used rice milk w/ our kids. They didn't know the difference. They have enriched and organic, and flavored--you could even use soy. Then your child can have cereal. Further you could make scrambled eggs w/ other milks or you don't need any milk at all to make scrambled eggs. You could just make an over-easy egg w/ toast & no butter. You could make french toast or pancakes w/ the alternate milk. They also make some yogurts that either don't have the dairy or are lactose fee. ANd I don't know what your doctor is telling you about dairy but is the lactaid milk okay? When I was a school age kid on dairy restriction we drank the lactose-free milk--was good. They also used to sell drops to put in your regular milk to make it lactose free. (Lactose is what your baby can't digest in the dairy.)

My daughter had a milk allergy that she no longer has, due to looking into nautral ways to heal allergies.
But what we did for many years is:
Use Rice Milk as a replacement.
Organic Yogurt is handles great by tose with milk allergies, because it changes the protein structure to be digested correctly, has to be the organic kind.
Anything that uses CULTURED milk changes the milk structure so look on packages, packaged Sara lee cheeses can be handled great also.

My daughter couldn't have dairy for a long time either. Here is what we fed her....in addition to the waffles and fruit. We fed her those gerber graduate snacks that are hard, cereal with lactose free "milk" or soy "milk", cereal bars, granola bars, oat meal made with water with fruit snacks in it or without, cream of wheat made with water and some sugar, grits with fake butter and salt, toast with peanut butter, peanut butter crackers, juice (we also gave her a calcium supplement), gatoraid, milk free pudding, jello jigglers, muffins, occasionally doughnuts, pretzels with mustard, nutrigrain bars, granola and lactose free yogurt, plain lactose free yogurt with fruit bits, eggs, omeletts with veggies and soy cheese, scrambled eggs with toast and jelly, plain toast with jelly, hash browns, mashed potatoes made with lactose free milk and fake butter. There were some others, but I can't remember them all....that's about it that I have off the top of my head.

If your child can have eggs, you can use cresent rolls and wrap eggs, bacon sausage or whatever she likes... mine loves olives... and wrap them in the rolls and bake them, it is a hot breakfast that I am sure she will like and you can too.:) You can always substitute the eggs with anything... whatever your child likes you can stuff the roll with:) I have found that if you have a food chopper it will help to make all the veggies in there small enough to each well and cook fast... like onions, peppers, and the bacon and sausage as well. YOu can try fresh fruit as well..If you dont like the cresent rolls, you can try a puffed pastry, found in the freezer section.
If she can have a splash of milk, you can make a PB and J sandwich and coat it with French toast batter and fry itand then cut into sticks:) Enjoy

good luck... hope you like it

Have you thought about oatmeal? My 16th month old loves it! I just add in some raisins while the water is heating up and sometimes a little brown sugar to sweeten it up.

Good luck!
