I have always received great advice from you guys so here I am again. Thank you all so much for your responses and for your advice. My 8 year old washing machine went on the blink. The repairman suggested that I just get a new one. The old one would cost too much to repair he says. Financially, I cannot afford to purchase a NEW machine. Does any one know where I can get a reliable used one? Perhaps a friend may be moving and wants to sell theirs or perhaps there is a reputable place that you know of that sells good, used, washing machines????? I will need to buy one really soon. Please help!!!!! Thank you.

What can I do next?

We have one that is 4 years old and we inherited a front loading one from my husband's Grandmother. It is a Maytag Performa and it works great.

Email me and I'll give you our phone number or personal email.

I know there is a place in Keller that has used appliances. They are on Denton Hwy (Hwy 377) right around Keller Hicks Rd. They have been around for years.

there is a place on Watauga Rd and Rufe Snow called Synergy. The windows say "home of the $99 appliance". I have never been in there, but they are guaranteed.

Have you tried the outlet stores? I know Sears has one and they sell all sort of washing machines at a discount price.

I had one for 26 years and my husband repaired it twice. Whatever is wrong is usually cheaper than a new one. They just want to haul it off and fix it and then sell it. My husband does all kinds of repairs and is also an electrician. He got one job off Mamasource already and we thank all of you for remembering him. Tom Black at ###-###-####. Thanks, V.

We bought our washer/dryer, and refrigerator from the Sears outlet in Grapevine. They had prices to fit any budget. The items are all brand-new, but have been slightly damaged somehow, usually in the shipping/delivery process. Our refrigerator was missing 1 small shelf, which we ordered from Kenmore. The dryer had a scratch on the door (not to the point of breaking the plastic, just a scratch) and I don't remember what was "wrong" with the washer. It's usually nothing that you mind when you are paying 1/2 or less of the price, but things that you wouldn't tolerate when you are buying a brand new item.

Good luck!
