Yep, that's right. That is my due date by measurement. I am measuring 30 weeks.

I am still in shock, we went in thinking we were maybe 20-22 weeks along, and after he measured me 3 times and looked in shock himself, my OB said I was measuring at 30. I have an ultrasound next week to double check, but he doesn't think it's going to change the due date by much.

Now I am back to feeling like an idiot. I can kinf of understand not knowing you are pregnant for 4-5 months which is what we thought I was, but not knowing for 7 months? I feel like a terrible mother to this new baby already. I missed the timeline for the quad screenings too. Tomorrow is my 25th Birthday. What a gift this is, here I was feeling all down because I was turning 25 and thought the only thing I had to look forward to was cheaper car insurance.

So, does anyone have any suggestions on how to prepare for a baby in 8 weeks? I am freeking out...

-----------------

Not laughing yet, I had to sit in the parking lot for 30 mintues before I could drive safely. I actually don't remember walking to my car, I was in complete shock. Hopefully soon we will laugh about this.

I don't feel comfortable having a shower, this is our 3rd child. We got rid of everything from our first 2 kids because we were having trouble getting pregnant. So I have to think like a first time Mom and get everything all over again. Turns out I have only gained one lousy pound this 7 months. I don't look pregnant yet, but none of my clothes fit. It is really starting to suck sleeping at night too. I forgot about this part.

What can I do next?

There is nothing wrong with having a shower for a 3rd baby. The showers are meant to be celebrations and this little one deserves to be celebrated too! Congrats!

Oh heck, I should have guessed. I was going to say 7 months. The only reason I was going to say that is because I know someone it happened to in the same way it happened to you. Don't worry about it. You did nothing wrong. Not all babies are as active as some. Your little one has been silently hiding from you. But how exciting? I HATE being pregnant. I'd be so thrilled!

I love your story! My friend was surprised to find herself 6 months pregnant. She thought she was going through menopause! Now her lovely 7 year old daughter is my son's best friend.

Happy 25th birthday and congratulations. Your baby is lucky to have you for a mommy! It will be a great story to tell! :)

Wow, congrats. I say just take it easy. Figure out what you need - do you have everything left from your first two or did you get rid of it all? Wash the clothes, buy some newborn diapers, etc.

On the bright side, I do NOT enjoy being pregnant and would be thrilled if 30 weeks went by without any of the pain, discomfort, body changes, etc. Since you didn't mention anything bad, I assume that everything looked good on the ultrasound that your OB did and it looks like you're going to have a perfectly healthy baby, even fi you didn't see a doctor earlier on.

OH MY! Congratulations!!

Look at it this way, you are done with all the 1st trimester struggles, and you made it way past the miscarriage danger zone... and you only have 8 weeks to wait for your baby instead of the sometimes incredibly long nearly 40 weeks that some of have to wait who knew they were pregnant basically from conception!

I know 8 weeks isn't much time to prepare, but give yourself a day or two to get a grip, then kick it in high gear! Baby's coming in 8 weeks!!!

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN! So excited for you!

And although you aren't laughing now, this will be a GREAT story to tell your baby when he/she grows up!

Well at least you aren't one of those mamas I have seen on tv who are in labor on the potty and had no idea they were pregnant! Let the shock settle in and then just enjoy the craziness of it all...what an amazing story you have for the rest of your life....after all, don't women enjoy one upping each other with pregnancy stories? LOL I think yours will be the winner among your family and friends. Look at it this way, you will have a little something extra to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! Congrats!

Cut yourself a little slack. Your story has given all of us alot of smiles today. Just remember that plenty of women take all their vitamins and goe to all their visits and their babies will never feel all the love that yours already does!

Best Wishes!

PS. Dont over think your baby room is my advice. Start with basics (pack-n-play, diapers, oneies and sleepers, swing and boppy pillow) everything else you can get as you need it,

You're due about 10 days after I am. Congratulations! Please stop feeling like and idiot and you're not a terrible mom. This is also my third and I've done nothing to prepare because I haven't had to...I don't need a thing. And I'm also not comfortable having a shower. A few of my very close friends are taking me out to dinner instead. I can't remember your other posts...have you gained weight and do you look pregnant? I haven't been feeling great, and in a weird way wish I hadn't found out I was pregnant so early. This has been such a lllooonnnggg pregnancy.

From all those who have trouble getting PG --- CONGRATS! That would be a huge blessing for me -- and don't worry so much about vitamins etc. --- I gained zero pounds due to a PG condition with all 5 (hyperemisis), and all my kiddos were just fine!

My 5th was a total shock -- though I was in menopause --- and the best thing to have ever happened to me :) Best of luck!!!

I was SO sick with all my babies that I could not prepare until after they were born -- don't worry, it will all get done!

How absolutely exciting! I think that is like winning the lottery....maybe even better than that.

You have plenty of time to get the "stuff." Let someone throw you a shower if they want to. I think every baby should be celebrated with a party. If you had everything, then I would suggest you should have a "sprinkle" and get dipes and wipes.

Craigslist is a great resource and it is still garage sale season. And with it being your third, you know what you really need.

Blessings to you and let us know about your ultrasound next week. :)
And honey, I've seen bad moms. You don't even come close. Get over that thought now.

Weird the tricks your body can play on you. My friend was in Africa (for a year) when she got "sick". Having PCOS and being told she would NEVER have kids, it never even crossed her mind. They told her she was NOT sick, she was 3 months pregnant! She was on birth control too! LOL And, unfortunately malaria medication as well the whole first trimester and eating very poorly over there. She immediately flew home. She just had the baby and he is totally healthy! So there is hope!
There is no reason you can't have another shower.
Good luck and God bless! Congrats!!!!!

You must have gotten pregnant the month you found out you had PCOS What a blessing!! Congrats now you know what all those issues with heartburn and nausea were back in May ;0)

Anyho we started all over with our third a surprise almost everything has been from conignment stores and we made out pretty cheap. She also sleeps in a pack n play and I love it.

Congrats! Even if you knwo for the full 9 months you still wouldn't be ready when the day came so don't worry! Enjoy your last few months.

Calm down, mama.
I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it, but measurements can be off, way off. Especially if you're a big girl. I measured ahead with both of mine, just a week or two with my son, but over a month with my daughter. If I hadn't had early ultrasounds with both they would have had my due dates off. And this late in the game, your ultrasound, when you have it, can be pretty far off as well. At my last ultrasound at 36 weeks they said my daughter was 40+ weeks (the highest they had). Of course, she was almost 9 1/2 pounds when she was born at 39 weeks via c-section.
My advice is to just enjoy your birthday and your kids for now. I won't tell you not to worry about it, because that's what we mom's do best, but just try not to think about it for a few minutes or hours, everything will come together. The baby will come when the baby comes, nothing can change that now.
Now for how to prepare, skip the crib for now, unless you know you want to put the baby in it from the beginning. A bassinet or pack n play (with bassinet top) will be much easier (and take up less space). Or if you plan to co-sleep, skip it entirely (we didn't buy a crib for my daughter until she was a year old). I'd also suggest skipping the newborn diapers. You'll get some diapers from the hospital, and if the baby is bigger, you won't need the newborn size at all. And if you do, send hubby to Walmart. Add some onsies, sleepers and gowns, and you're set for clothes for the first few weeks. If you plan on breastfeeding, a nursing pillow might help, I loved My Brest Friend. The rest of the stuff can wait until after the baby gets here, and Craigslist is a great place to find it.
Congratulations Mama!

Just as someone else said it will just fall into place. Maybe he/she will be a good relaxed baby. Unless you have been drinking a ton every day and chain smoking I'm sure this baby will be totally normal. I would just get a few of the must have's and go from there.

How exciting!

Take a deep breath...yea, you don't have to wait as long as the rest of us did...so I am a bit jealous there!!

Baby's do not need very much at first...they sleep, they eat, they look around a few minutes and repeat every 2 to 4 hours.

So, get a few items...someplace for the baby to sleep, maybe even a small bassinet next to your bed (you can pick out a crib later), some onsies or sleepers (I liked the sleepers cause they had feet and the baby seemed more dressed to me), buy a few in newborn size and a few in 0-3 months. Buy one pack of newborn diapers, most of the time they will be out of newborn size pretty quick.

I liked to get a pretty/handsome going home from the hospital outfit for the baby...oh and a car seat, they won't let you leave the hospital with out one. I liked the carriers that snapped into a base installed in the car.

You will get a lot of little items from the hospital. I will add more later...yea!! I am super excited for you!!

People feel weird...someone offers to help say "need diapers, here's money go buy some"..."I need to fold laundry"...cooking cleanring organizing...DELEGATE!

OH and Congrats... I really though 1-14 was the day!
