Hi Moms,

I'm having some trouble dealing with certain issues with my 2 1/2 year old son. I'm looking into play therapy, but the therapists that have been recommended to me so far are in Frisco and that's a bit of a long haul for us.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a therapist who does play therapy in the Lewisville, Coppell, Flower Mound, Highland Village area?

Thanks! C.

My daughters go to preschool at UNT, and they do seem to specialize in play therapy there. In fact, it seems like every year they offer a free course to parents to learn the basics of play therapy. I took it one year (it was once a week, and they offer free childcare as well), it was interesting. I'm not sure who you would call, but you may want to just google UNT play therapy and see what comes up.

hi

I'm also looking for a play therapist and i saw the website www.a4pt.org. Under their Directories you could find play therapist in different areas.
Goodluck and please let me know if you find someone who accepts and has a lot of experience with toddlers.
Thanks
zl

A long time ago I heard there was a play therapy clinic at UNT in Denton. I never used them, nor do I know of anyone who has. I don't even know if it's still there, but my son's counselor told me about it years ago so maybe you can call around and see. Good luck!
