I have a g/f whom has been actively trying. This month she's missed her period it was due on October 14. She has every symptom possible, sore breast, frequent urination, some morning sickness in the morning, sensitive to smells. But every test she's taken has been negative. She's used first response, clear blue easy, ept, and a CVS brand that was a two pack and one of them was positive. But the EPT was taken after the CVS brand. She has her appointment for the regular gynecologist but she's just so discouraged she can deal with not being pregnant right now but is just wondering what is going on. And I've never gone through that so I told her I would ask the ladies on the sight to see if any of you have had that happened and what was the outcome? Were you actually pregnant? Or did you evenutally get a period?

What can I do next?

I think many times when a woman so desperatly wants to have a baby, you make yourself believe you are pregnant! I can remember one month so desperatly wanting to be pregnant. I felt sick to my stomache, was tired, sore breasts, all the commom symptoms. As soon as I saw the test was negative, I got my period and the symtoms disapeared. It is not that common to get a negative result when you are pregnant. I am sure it is possible, but unlikely.

I don't pass a pregnancy test for a full month after I am pregnant (in fact I have my period that 1st month!). It really skews the numbers so it looks like my babies are all early but all look full term. I always have to just have to have the doctor just to a sonogram. I fail the pee and blood test but they always see the baby. My husband is a doctor and even he is baffled by it as it is "impossible".

Sometimes the symptoms can just be caused by a delayed menstrual cycle. I'd focus on helping her keep perspective on the bigger picture, tell her that she can also talk to the doctor about assistive reproductive options if she turns out not to be pregnant.
