Pregnancy Support Belt - Waterbury,CT

I am 23 weeks pregnant, with my 3rd child, and my lower back is complaining. I've been doing yoga and using microwave heating packs at night. Not much help.
I'm thinking a pregnancy support belt/garment might be what I need to support my low back. A quick google search turned up all different kinds and all different brands.

Any recommendations?

Hi Crystal,

I had a ton of back pain (and also pelvic pain) during my pregnancy, so I started using the Prenatal Cradle (specifically the Mini Cradle though there are a few more elaborate options). I absolutely loved it. They do run small, so if you're on the border of sizes (Amazon has the sizing) I would definitely order up. It was super comfortable to wear, inexpensive, easy to wash, and you couldn't see it under my clothing. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Good luck with your pregnancy,
L.

I bought one off the shelf at Babies r us and it worked just fine! A few things to remember:
1. remove it every hour or so...when you pee is a good reminder. This is for circulation.
2. It is not as comfortable to sit in- I would usually wear mine while moving, rather than while sitting in front of the computer.
3. The velcro attached to everything- the front of your knit pants may get "pulled".

For direct back help, ice is sometimes the best answer. While heat is soothing, it is also inflaming. Try flexible ice packs- essentially, the ice causes the blood vessels to contract, then as the area warms back up, fresh blood rushes in to provide healing.

Congrats on the pregnancy!

Hi Crystal...just came to check out your answers here cause I'm also about the same...22 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and my lower back hurts are random times, but it like spasms. I also was wondering if I should be doing anything. I'm considering going to a chiropractor...

I'll check back when you have more answers! :)

Take care!!

I used the one sold at motherhood maternity. It is really just thick elastic at the base of the belly, but it worked. It wasn't uncomfortable since it isn't really elaborate, and I used it for 3 months carrying twins, and it never lost stretch.
