Hi - I have an almost 10 year old daughter that LOVES to watch scary movies. The problem is finding some that are appropriate for her to watch. I've let her watch "The Grudge" - she loved it. But I'm having a hard time finding scary movies that don't have a ton of 1.cussing 2. bloody 3. sex - any suggestions?? At her age I was watching Nightmare on Elm Street ... .I Don't know what my parents were thinking.

What can I do next?

Those are the only kind of scary movies I can watch, the suspense, slight haunting/creepy scary.. I can't watch the bloody/gory/too incredibly evil stuff, I like M Night Shamalyn and older stuff b/c of that.

My daughter is 12. I agree that there are very few scary movies (or any movies, for that matter) that are good and not full of inappropriate things. We recently watched Signs and The Village. Both very scary, but not blood, guts or sex. There might have been a word or two in Signs, although I don't recall anything crazy. I love a good old fashioned scare. My daughter also liked the old classic "The Blob". Funny & scary. Godzilla comes to mind also. Old scary movies can be good too. My daughter DVRd all the old classic Twilight Zone episodes - big fun for everyone in my house. Those STILL scare me!

Rent "The woman in black". It stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter). It's set in Victorian England, no nudity, I don't recall hearing any cursing and it wasn't bloody. But it was scary.

I am legend I thought that one was kinda scary. blair witch sucked im sorry, we even went out to my cousins cabin after watching that movie to see if we could scare ourselves and nothing, not even a weird dream :(

Those classic movies aren't good but they can be kind of frightening. Birds is good. The others is pretty scary too. Some other movies include poltergeist, gremlins, haunting in Connecticut, and the haunting I'm the Winchester house. Super 8 and the darkest hour.
