Hi Moms, I've decided it's time to try for baby number two so I'm trying to get a plan together. I had a very rough delivery my first time so I'm pretty nervous about everything, but I'm excited at well. I've narrowed it down to what hospital I'd like to deliver. Medical City seems like a good fit for me. I'd like some advice on which doctor to choose. I'm new to the area, so any opinions about or experiences with the delivery doctors at Medical City would help me out a lot! I prefer a female doctor this time around who is really attentive and caring, but I had a male last time, so I'm open to that... I just REALLY want a better delivery experience this time. Thank you so much, Min

I was with Dr. Joseph Carlos for 10 years. He's in the same practice as Dr. Parnell and Dr. Jones that Meca mentioned. They have also hired another female doctor but I don't know anything about her because I have since moved to Georgia. They are very knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Carlos has great bedside mannerand has taken many frantic, hysterical calls from me and has never lost his cool with me. For example, back in 1999, I had a miscarriage in JAMAICA!! I called Dr. Carlos from Jamaica and of course his receptionists answered. They were trying to get me to say what was wrong but I just screamed that I needed Dr. Carolos. They were very nice and quickly called him to the phone. He got on the phone and used a very calming but concerned voice to ask what was wrong. I told him that I was bleeding a lot and he apologized because he knew what was happening. He then told me that I had to go to the hospital. I said, "I'm in a Third World country!! I can't go to these hospitals!" He was very reassuring and told me that I HAD to go. He said Jamaica had very good doctors. I finally listened and went to a very small emergency clinic where I was cared for wonderfully and was able to go home the next day. I LOVE Dr. Carlos!!

Dr. Bruce Roberts is awesome - he's an older doctor and he's seen it all. Very nice. His practice is Northlake OBGYN located in Medical City. He has several younger doctors in his practice, including a couple of women since you prefer that. I've seen most of them through my pregnancies (they have you rotate through at the end of the pregnancy so that hopefully the doctor on call when you deliver will have seen you) and they were all personable, knowledgable and caring. Sorry I'm blanking on their names! The nurses have made comments during my deliveries about how Dr. Roberts does things the right way. And you know they've seen it all! Good luck!

Call Northlake OB/GYN at Medical City ###-###-####. They have female doctors that are the best. One of my favorites is Dr. McClintock. I delivered my youngest there and it was amazing. My doctor is Dr. Bruce Roberts, who I think is the best doctor in the world, but if you prefer a female - then Dr. McClintock or any of the other female doctors are great, too. The thing that is wonderful about Northlake is that they have a lab and sonogram techs in the same office. They are super nice and they are specialist in fertility and childbirth and also cover all gyn. needs. I can't say enough about them.

I totally agree with the recommendation of Northlake OBGYN. Dr. Jean McClintock has been my Dr. for several years and she is wonderful!!! Dr. Bruce Roberts delivered my first and Dr. McClintock delivered my second. The office is terrific. Monica, Dr. McClintock's nurse is super sweet, and having the sonogram in office was nice :)

I see Dr Winfred Parnell (but he's male!). He has an associate in his office, Dr. Ramana Jones, who is wonderful! I would actually see her if I hadn't been seeing Dr. Parnell for the past 10 years. She has such a calming demeanor, and I know several people that go to her and who say they would never want to see anyone else! Here's the number: ###-###-####
