The 'original' is the MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) shoes/sneakers that came out way before sketcher. I have owned several pairs and personally have not had any toning at all - the reason I originally got them was for plantar faciitis (sp?) pain in my heel area, and by walking with these type of shoes, they actually healed my situation (which I think I got from wearing regular sneakers while jogging). So for this reason I recommend this type of sneaker, but all the hype about toning to me is not factual. If you are interested in MBT's they sell them everywhere but I think walkers warehouse has them usually on sale (its online).

I sell the Curves brand through Avon. My mom got them and it has helped her a lot. She does feel it in her legs and rear and has noticed a small difference. She can't run or do lots of walking because of her knee. These shoes are very comfortable for her. I'm going to order the Curves toning sandals for myself because I'm not a tennis shoe person. I would look at different brands before making the final decision. Sketchers is a good brand but the lowest I saw was this weekend at $104 on sale. Curves via Avon is on sale for $40. (My mom wears hers 3-4 times per week for the past 8 months and they are in really good condition.)

I have had a pair for 2 months now, and I wear them everywhere! They are very comfortable, especially since I put my Smart Feet orthodics in the insoles. It's like walking on air! I do feel it mostly in the pelvic floor, and for someone who has given birth twice, that's important! (No need to explain - if you have had any issues after having a baby, you know exactly what I'm talking about!)

Also, I do not wear them on uneven trails, as they can be wobbly. They are great street shoes! Reminds me a little bit of the Moon Boots we wore in the 80s.

I have been wearing them for several months. I like the shoes, they are comfortable, they are cute, and I can feel some soreness in my legs after wearing them for an extended period of time. Can I see a difference in my legs or butt? Nope. If you do get them, wear them a little at a time to get used to them and be careful, you can trip easily at first. A friend of mine found the Curves brand offers a similar shoe for half the price and she likes them a lot too.

I have worn them for 3 months. I don't notice any "toning", but I broke all the major bones in my foot in an auto accident a couple of years ago, and can honestly say these shoes have changed my life! I could walk with much pain and a limp with my custom orthotic, but the Shape Ups allow me to walk longer distances with much less pain. I don't even use the orthotic anymore. My friend who had both knees operated on has experienced similar improvement in leg pain.

I have a pair and looooove them! They are super comfortable and yes, I do believe my butt has toned up since I've been wearing them. I wear them pretty much every day and wear them hiking, etc.

I have a pair of the Skechers and I love them. I don't know if they are actually doing any toning, but I don't wear them everyday. I usually wear them while taking my kids for walks and such. They are super comfortable though! I walked a 5K in them and they were great. My mom and sister-in-law also have a pair. My mom wears them everyday, in place of her other sneakers. She loves how comfortable they are, even wore them when she went to Vegas.

i just got the shape up sneakers last week. I got them on ebay for about $90. brand new. I can definately feel the difference after walking in them, especially when I walk up a steep incline. I haven't had them long enough to tell if they actually make my legs and butt more toned, but it's worth a try!!
