Stay at Home Businesses

Does anyone know any stay at home businesses that are successful? I am a working Mom and would really like to be more involved in my children's school, but can't seem to do it in the corporate world. I can probably stay at home with some sort of income coming in, about $200/week would be all that I would need. Any suggestions? Scentsy? Lia Sophia? Thirtyone?

Merchandisers.... avon, am greetings, hallmark, lays chips, revlon. stock merchandise in various of stores and kinda make your own hours.

From this mama site, I heard of arise.com. It is like training you to be a telephone operater. it may be a few steps to take, some start money to buy certain head-set and then marketing yourself to companies to be an operator for them. Pretty legit company though, just may take a few months to establish yourself.

I have tried many things out there. I opened internet franchises about 4 years ago. I love it. I own 4 of them. It's by far the best thing I've ever done. It's a lot of fun too. My advice is check out the companies that you are looking at and don't register for any of them the first night you look at it. Do your homework.

My company is number 54 on the internet retailer top 500 list and we will replace amazon.com in the next couple of years. Whoo hoo.
If you would like some info message me and I can email something to you.
Good luck.
If you want to just pick my brain about what I learned you can do that too.
As I said I did many things and looked at many others.
:)

If you're interested in Thirty-One, I'd be happy to share the information with you. I've been a consultant for almost a year and love it. I have a full-time job, so it's supplemental income for me, but I know several women who have made full-time careers out of it.

Check out my website at www.mythirtyone.com/reacesmith or call me at ###-###-####. I have lots of fun with it and use the products daily. You can't sell what you don't love. :-)

Hope to hear from you!

Arbonne is the best company to work for the compensation plan compares to NO other! The products are all Natural and they do what they say, they just work. You can make as much as you want the sky is the limit. I never intended on doing Arbonne as a business I just signed up to get the generous discount on the cream that stopped my migraines and before I knew it I was making money because the products worked so well I couldn't stop talking about them. On the average I earn $200+ per presentation which takes about 2 hours start to finish (setting up, presentation, orders and travel time) I will PM my contact info so you can check it out further (it is against policy to put contact info on any web site other than a myarbonne.com web site). Any home based business takes consistancy. I am not a pushy person and I still do very well. I love being able to choose when and how much I work and I can take time off when I want and not have to ask or beg for it. Good Luck

Hi C.,

You can be very successful with Discovery Toys and can certainly earn $200/week if you put in some effort. It would take 1-2 parties per week to net that amount, or one larger event (like a "party" at a school or something). There are not many consultants in your area, so you would be tapping into a new market and could probably build your business pretty quickly.

There are a few things that make Discovery Toys a great business to invest in:
1. We are the ONLY at-home toy company, so there isn't any competition in the at-home marketplace. If you do events (boutiques, fairs, etc), you will be the only toy company there (as opposed to skin care, jewelry, kitchen items that all have multiple companies vying for business)

2. All Discovery Toys come with a lifetime warranty, so your customers can get replacement parts any time if things break from normal play (ex: my son's preschool has a huge set of Marble toys that are 20 years old and we are replacing all of the broken pieces this week for free)

3. All of our toys are fun, educational, and can be played with in a variety of ways, so kids will enjoy them for years before they outgrow them (and some of the games are fun for adults, too)

I would love to give you more information and welcome you to my team. If you are interested, please email me at DiscoveryToysKaren AT gmail DOT com or visit my personal website (where you can join the team or shop for products) at http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/karenchao

I love my job and love hearing about how much the children love their toys!

Keep in mind that most "opportunities" require you do recruit, invest and sell. Most are MLM or direct selling.

They are not popular in our area because being invited to a party of some sort is like getting an invoice... last time I just wrote a check to the hostess and skipped the party.

What do you do in the corporate world? Incorporate that into your home job. We run our company from home. I consult with an at home mom who is a whiz at Quickbooks to help me out at times for $85/hour.

Think outside the box!!

Both my husband and I work from home as marketing execs with Melaleuca and we love it. The products are great, all non-toxic and safe for your family and home. The company, itself, is a great company that has been around for over 25 years Melaleuca is a recipient of the BBB Torch Award and has been on Inc. 500's list of fastest-growing companies for 5 consecutive years. We are proud to represent Melaleuca and it's products and are grateful we have the opportunity to do so while getting to spend more time as a family and also getting to share the same opportunity with others. (Sorry, I started to sound like a commercial, but that is how much I really love what I do).
We can plan our own schedules and really can do most of it online and over the phone, there are no parties, no inventory to keep. There is really little investment and they have such great customer service that they will return any investment if you are dissatisfied, so really there is no financial risk at all. And, really, I just love the products and get to share with others how great they are.
Whatever you decide, do lots of research. I can't say enough how many companies I looked into and tried different work at home opportunities that didn't work out for me.
Feel free to PM if you like but best wishes for whatever you decide what is best for you and your family.

I work at home, and really enjoy it. It is an MLM company, but there is more to it. I work with Ameriplan and with the economy the way it is, and people not being able to afford insurance that they used to have, it has actually been really good for my business ( :)) I also choose to recruit, becuase I am so glad that my recruitor told me about it! I don't push anything on anyone, including friends and family, none of which need Ameriplan right now and that's fine. I have found so much interest in talking to and working with other moms that are looking for a little more. 99% of my business is done online (mostly during naps and when my kids are already in bed) I also only call people that ask me to, there is no cold calling.
The thing I LOVE most about working with Ameriplan is the amount of money that I am saving by being a part of the company. It is also a company that has been around for almost 19 years, and many people are familiar with, so it's easy to sell the plans and such.

I have done things like The Pampered Chef (which I loved) but you do have to give up a lot of evenings (which is my favorite time with my family) and I ran into a huge problem, when everyone I knew had done parties what to do then? My first few months I made tons of money, but then it fizzled out. I will never regret that my entire kitchen is PC products and I paid almost nothing for it all. You really have to be the right type of person for the "party jobs" and I am not that. :) Some people are very successful, but I found it difficult to create a steady income.

PM me if you would like some more information about what I do. I will tell you up front and honestly, I want yo uto be able to decide what is best for your family.

You are going to get tons of people trying to recruit you from this post, good luck sorting it all out!! I'm sure you will find something that works well for you!

I felt the same way that you do. I was working FT and really feel I missed out on a lot of my kids lives. I started a business with Arbonne International. After trying the products and seeing them work, plus after complete research, I knew that this one the right one. You want to stick with consumable products, products that are in line with timings and trends, one where there is a demand and one that you can leverage your time. Arbonne has a hybrid compensation plan that allows you to exponentially increase your income as your business grows. Feel free to contact me at ____@____.com...I would love to chat. Talk to you soon. Good luck

Here is a work from home option. How about capitalizing from services that you already use. Moreover, you can capitalize from services that others already use. By becoming part of the team in this company you have the benefit of earning income from services that everybody uses. Take a look for yourself. www.5linx.net/L463365
