I have tried Meijer's Whisper soft diapers size 5, I didn't like them...The tabs pulled off, and the stuffing kept coming out the top. Has anyone tried any other store brand Size 5 diapers...ex:target, Walmart. How did you like them, are the tabs strechy?

What can I do next?

Hello I've used FMV from kroger sence my child was born they work great! Not the "comforts" from kroger tho. They come in a yellow bag and they are fabulous! The fmv may have changed but I'm not positive!

I have found the White Cloud from Walmart and The TARGET brand ones are really good - I have 4 girls and I have used the Walmart ones on all of them - I tried the Target ones on my 3rd child - I go to walmart more than Target so I just stick with the Walmart brand.

I too had the same problems with Meijer's brand diapers when my kids were still in diapers. I liked Walmart's brand better, no where near the problems you get with the Meijer brand! : )

I have tried almost every store brand, Pampers (Baby Dry and Cruisers), and Huggies and the ones I have stuck with are Members Mark brand from Sams Club. They have NEVER leaked, and the ONE time I got a bad batch that the tabs pulled off, I wrote in and they sent me a coupon for a free case. I can't say enough good things about these diapers! I recently had some coupons for Pampers and tried them again, and they leaked at night! The inside gel "stuff" was all over in the morning...yuck!

The only exception to this is when my kids were preemies. Pampers worked very well, but the Huggies brand leaked all over my 4 -5 pound peanut. However, these were the only two options I could find at the time for preemies, so I had no other choice!

One of my twins has SUPER sensitive skin and can only use Huggies. As they get older I will try to switch to the cheaper brands but he just can't handle it.
My little girl also got a awful diaper rash all over her little potty and butt after using the Kroger Comforts brand. Once we got back on huggies...all was well again.
I don't think any brand compares.

We use the target ones mostly. Walmart "parents choice" ones on occasion. The Walmart ones run a tad bigger and are just a bit thicker than the Target ones IMO.

We exclusively use either the Meijer brand (it's not the Whisper soft btw, it's Drybabies(or bottoms) that is the Store Brand) And Parent Choice from Walmart.

For Cost Parent Choice is best. the Drybabies is slightly better quality IMO.

I am always unhappy about something with store brand diapers. I use pampers cruisers. My son is in size three and i usually pay between 18 and 21 cent a diaper. I keep at least a 3-4 week supply of diapers so i only buy using combo of sale/coupon

reg price 35pack is 9.54, newspaper ad 7.99, coupon 1.50 Price=6.49 18.5cents/diaper, no leaks, lots of stretch

to save $$ I price shop, only buy on sale, shop ahead so i dont run out and use coupones i buy by box or small package

1. sunday paper coupons and ad check
2. meijer cash-reg prints them
3. on pampers.com mailing list (ailed and emailed)
4. put hubby on lists also
5. buy the big box from toys r us and babies r us on sale, get on their mailing list $5 off box coupons in addition
6. coupons come in many bags of diapers
7. target mailing list

Hope this helps, you can do the same thing with huggies, I used to switch back and forth

I think that I've tried every brand out there, looking for something cheaper. I honestly don't remember any of the store brands having stretchy tabs... My issue wasn't them falling apart, but keeping pee in! My son would ALWAYS wet through, at night and during the day. I would change him 2-3 times as much, both cleaning up messes and trying to keep them from occurring, plus I was doing more than double the laundry. I finally decided that I wasn't saving any money, probably spending more, and the frustration was really getting to me. I went back to Pampers Cruisers and never looked back. With my younger son, I had a lapse in judgment and decided to try Sam's Club brand on him, and after a day and a half, packed up the entire box and gave it to charity. I'm sorry that I don't have any advice for you, but through my experience, store brands just weren't worth it. Is your daughter getting ready to potty-train? I just got done training my son and once I got it figured out, he was trained (pee) in 3 days and poop in just over a week... at night, too. Let me know if you want my technique.

I have not had any luck with them either. Luvs are not expensive and they work wonderful, I think better than Huggies and Pampers because they do not crystalize.

I do NOT reccomend Target brand. I tried them when I ran out of diapers while on vacation with my kids. My then 2 month old wet right through everyone I tried.

Walmart brand are good diapers though. I used them with both of my older children (now 4 and 6).

Hope that Helps..

Hi B.,

I've tried both Target and Walmart brands and neither worked well for my 2 year old son. It wasn't so much the tabs for me as it was the overall quality of the diaper. I've had more success with Luvs, Huggies, and Pampers Cruisers, they just hold up better for my active 2 year old. If cost is a concern for you, Luvs is cheaper than the other two brands and performs just as well.

I like the Target brand, and they work great. The tabs are streachy like the name brands.

I liked the wal-mart brand until they changed manufacturers or something, because now it seems that both of my daughters are always leaking during the night with them.

Hi B.,

I liked the Wal-Mart Dry Bottoms (I think that's what they were called) They were in a yellow package with ducks on them. They were only $5-6 for the small package and worked better than Huggies. I found that Huggies leak through the night. My second choice was Luvs. Some of the off brand diapers irritated my son's skin. When I tried a new diaper, I would try every other one when I changed him until I was sure they were ok. I never had a problem with the Dry Bottoms. Good Luck!

I love Walmart brand which is white cloud. We switched to those after using Huggies for a long time. For us, they work just as well. My only problem now is that they started making White Cloud Supremes and you get 16 less diapers per box for the same price in size 5. I really don't like that but can't buy the regular ones at my walmart anymore. I haven't tried the Supremes but I'm sure it's a good diaper since the regular ones are.

I know my sister tried Kroger brand and said, "Never again." They leaked a lot. After she had that experience, I have stuck with name brands. When I am trying to save money, I have been pretty successful with Loves.

I like Wal-mart's super comfort brand the best of all store brands. It is similar to Huggies, but definately not as luxurious. It does have semi-stretchy tabs and is more absorbent than most store brands. It also has a better fit than any of the other store brands I have tried. The best of all store brands I would have to say is Costco's Kirkland brand, but unless you have a membership, that option is out of question.

I love the Walmart White Cloud diapers. Like Amy, I have also not been able to find the regular ones anymore. They both have stretchy tabs! The supremes are great, it's just that you get 20 diapers less for the same price. I did try the Parent's Choice at Walmart also, and wouldn't do that again. In the past I have used the Babies/Toys R Us brand and liked those. They do have regular and supreme and I liked the supreme better. They are pretty cheap, but the best way to get them is when there are coupons. They usually have buy one get one, or so much off when you buy one or two. Target brand isn't too bad either, but I still prefer the White Clouds over any other. I am trying to decide what brand I am going to use as well! I have two in diapers, hopefully only one soon, but they are so expensive. Even with the store brand we are spend $60 a month. I would rather save a little on diapers so that we have extra money to do things with the kids.

I tend to buy store brand diapers when I am tight on cash (which seems to be a lot lately LOL) and the best brand by far I have used is Krogers brand -- htey have the stretchable tabs and have never fallen apart or leaked for my daughter. But the best brand I used for my sons was the Toys R US brand - this brand seemed to be better for my boys.

Good luck!!

My almost 4 yo is out of diapers now with the exception of night time. I love the Kroger brand Nite Pants. They are sooo much cheaper, you don't get that gross gel pellets on the tushie and they don't leak. Maybe you should try their diaper version.

Hi~
I have found that the hassle of trying cheaper diapers isn't worth the few dollars you'll save. I even tried Luvs again since they started making the stretch tabs and then I remembered why I didn't buy them in the first place. I always end up going back to Pampers Cruisers or Huggies Supreme. Plus, I have found that Pampers run bigger, so I can keep my babies in a smaller size longer, thus getting more diapers for my money!
Good luck...if you find a good one def. let us all know!!
