Thai Cooking Class

I've been teaching a Thai Food cooking class in my own home. I started this a little over a year ago as a hobby and to have adult time from my children. My hb has been extremely supportive of my endiver. He takes the kids out of the house while I host a cooking class. I've not done too much advertising lately, I have decal on the side of my van. I paid for an ad in our subdivision's newsletter but did not get any response. Since then I've yet to put any other ads out there. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the word out there that I have this class? Any suggestions would be appreciate it. I've done classes for couples as their couples night out, a girls group, a lot of mommies group. Lots of fun.

What can I do next?

You could make flyers and have them passed out in your area, and you can get a website. Also, look at Craigslist.com, many people locally barter, sell, and do lots of stuff on there for free!

At kinkos you can make little door hanger advertisements. You could probably also make them at home if you have the template and the paper. Hang them on doors in all the neighborhoods around you. Usually when the gardening or cleaning ones appear on my door I throw them away BUT Rising Sun Karate and Jeurgens gymnastics used this form of advertising and it worked on me. If you are willing to travel a bit look into doing this in the Humble area - Neighborhoods like Fall creek, Eagle Springs Walden, and many others would be very receptive. Enlist the help of a kid/teenager to hang them.

You ought to look into Woodlands Online advertising. I go to their site for EVERYTHING!! I have used their classified ads to sell things, buy things, even to find our babysitter. I constantly use their business listings to find any service or business I need...handymen, restaurants, doctors, etc. You might find a place to advertise for free there, or at a reasonable rate.

Also...I'm one of those who always check the bulletin boards at my grocery stores. You can usually post an ad, and have tear off information tabs at the bottom. You have to replace them weekly, as the store usually clears them off once a week...usually Sunday.

There is also a "Kid's Directory" that circulates at local businesses that is free to the consumer. I'm not sure what it costs to advertise in those, but they seem to be a great resource.

Good luck!! If I ever had time to get out & do something for myself, a cooking class would be fun. BUT...I don't...ever! Wah!!
